WELKER: What do you say to voters who say they're struggling and want change? BESSENT: Well, why don't we revisit the Biden-era policies WELKER: President Trump has been in office now for 636 days, and inflation was at 3% when he took office, it's 3.7% now. At what point does the administration take responsibility?

I don’t think you have a dog in this fight but if you did you would have shot it.
I’ll take @ellalangleymsic over Kacey Musgraves any day. And if I’m choosin’ Texas, I’ll take Ken Paxton over James Talarico.

In 2018, comedian Michelle Wolf hosted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and was PANNED. Now, 8 years later, the joke’s on her haters: everything she said aged extraordinarily well 👍🏾 On Trump not showing up to the dinner: “I would drag him here myself, but it turns out that the president of the United States is the one pussy you’re not allowed to grab. He said it first. Yeah, he did. You remember? Good.” On Trump’s daughter and senior adviser, Ivanka. “She was supposed to be an advocate for women, but it turns out she’s about as helpful to women as an empty box of tampons. She’s done nothing to satisfy women. So I guess, like father like daughter.” On vice-president Mike Pence: “He thinks abortion is murder. Which first of all don’t knock it till you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it, you gotta get that baby out of there. And yeah, sure, you can groan all you want, I know a lot of you are very anti-abortion, you know, unless it’s the one you got for your secret mistress.” On White House counsellor Kellyanne Conway: “You guys have to stop putting Kellyanne on your shows. All she does is lie. If you don’t give her a platform, she has nowhere to lie. If a tree falls in the woods, how do we get Kellyanne under that tree? I’m not suggesting she gets hurt. Just stuck. Stuck under a tree.” On former press secretary Sarah Huckabee: “I actually really like Sarah. I think she’s very resourceful. But she burns facts and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smokey eye. Like maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s lies. It’s probably lies.” Immediately after the dinner, the White House Correspondents’ Association issued an apology — saying the night was supposed to “unite not divide” — and dozens of papers panned the comic in their reviews. But dozens of comedians rushed to Wolf’s defense. Stephen Colbert, who was the featured entertainer at the 2006 event, said it best: “This is the correspondents' dinner, celebrating the freedom of speech. You can't just say whatever you want!" 😝 8 years later, Wolf has still never apologized. Nor should she! She got the last laugh 🎤 ⤵️

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Ben Golnik was hired by Big Pharma to stop insulin reform. Then Lisa Demuth made him a top advisor on her campaign.
Quinn Nystrom, a Minnesota insulin advocate, reacting to the news that Ben Golnik, the Big Pharma lobbyist who fought against affordable insulin in the legislature, is now a top advisor for the Demuth campaign: "We had to go head to head with Golnik to get the [insulin] bill passed. He was paid by Novo Nordisk. The insulin that I need every single day. And I thought, oh, my gosh, it's like a ghost of my past has come back up."

I see Madonna is pissing everybody off again. Good. Gen X checking in: Were some of y’all born yesterday? You’re clutching your pearls because Madonna is 68, wearing lingerie, fishnets and thigh-high boots like she suddenly lost her mind at bingo. THIS IS MADONNA. She rolled around on the VMA stage in a wedding dress in 1984. She gave us Like a Prayer. Vogue. Erotica. Truth or Dare. Justify My Love. Ray of Light. Confessions. She made Evita, Who’s That Girl, A League of Their Own and Desperately Seeking Susan. She reinvented herself so many damn times that entire generations of pop stars are still borrowing from the blueprint. And now the woman who spent 40+ years telling society to go fuck itself is supposed to hit 68 and start dressing like somebody’s meemaw because you got uncomfortable with her aging? Fuck that. Prince never needed permission to be Prince. Bowie never needed permission to be Bowie. Madonna doesn’t need permission to be Madonna. And bookmark this post: The day Madonna dies, half the people dragging her today will suddenly post “We lost an icon 💔” and spend a week explaining how she changed music, fashion, sexuality and pop culture. I’m not waiting for her obituary to give her her flowers. Wear the corset. Wear the fishnets. Piss people off. You’re fucking Madonna.

Michele Tafoya deleting tweets about being embarrassed to live in Minnesota wouldn’t be as big of a deal if she also wasn’t tweeting about being a Florida resident at the same time. It’s one thing to say the place you live should be better, it’s another to say it from Florida.
The deleted exchange was part of a broader pattern of Michele Tafoya criticizing the state she is now running to represent. cnn.it/4AtTRl8
