Speaking ahead of AS Roma game, Michael Carrick feels he will be staying on as Manchester United head coach.
When all else fails, appeal to the fanbase by rolling out an academy graduate at a Champion League press conference.
Peak desperation levels.

Solskjær thinks Carrick is the man for Man Utd.
One failed to qualify for the Conference League with Beşiktaş, the other lost 20 games in a single season in the Championship.
Worse yet, they literally pitched each other to the board when Amorim got sacked.

🚨🎙️ | Ole Gunnar Solskjær on Michael Carrick:
"Michael HAS what it TAKES to take that club forward.
"I think he is the RIGHT man.
"He UNDERSTANDS the club, understands the fans and knows what it takes."

Apparently Carrick is being killed by "fine margins."
That's the mental sedative used to protect domestic coaches from tactical accountability.
If a foreign coach suffered Carrick's regression, it would be termed a "systemic crisis."
Plain narrative laundering to treat macro failure as bad luck.

Doing their best to defend the colonels running Manchester United.
This is why #mufc won't get anywhere with former players.
And when things get bad, as they are with Carrick, the fanbase sings in tears to defend mediocrity because "it's not his fault."
🚨🗣️ - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on the talks that occurred between him and Manchester United when Ruben Amorim was sacked:
“When I spoke to United, I praised Michael Carrick as well. I said, 'If you choose him, you will get a GOOD man.' I think he did the same for me too.
“I feel that I have something UNFINISHED. Of course, it would have been GREAT to have the opportunity again.”

The verbal agreement between AC Milan and Markus Krösche is the clearest sign yet of Gerry Cardinale’s long term vision.
Bringing in the former Frankfurt sporting CEO as Head of Football, Milan are moving away from the traditional Italian sporting director model.
A look at the financial and strategic realities behind the move. ⤵️
🔲 Contract & The Budget
German outlets reported a massive package, potentially a multi-year deal worth up to €10m a year. More importantly, it comes with a massive multi-year transfer and structural pool rumored near €700m, designed to reshape the squad over a full cycle.
🔲 The Frankfurt Stand-off
Krösche recently stepped down from his daily role at Eintracht Frankfurt, but he is still legally bound to them until 2028.
Milan are currently finalising the buyout. Frankfurt are holding out for a steep compensation package, with numbers pushing past €10m for an immediate December release.
🔲New Management Structure
Krösche is expected to bring Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung with him. They’ll take full control of squad design, working directly with Rúben Amorim and lifting the burden from interim directors Hendrik Almstadt and Bobby Gardiner.
🔲 January Window
Expect an aggressive winter market. Cardinale has promised Amorim immediate backing to fix the depth issues left behind by a chaotic summer.
Krösche’s arrival means Milan are fully committing to an elite, data driven model, the same system he used to turn players like Kolo Muani, Pacho, and Marmoush into massive capital gains.
It’s an incredibly ambitious pivot, but building a data-driven pipeline is one thing and doing it under the intense pressure of Serie A and AC Milan is another.
