The inaugural workshop of the ERC RITUAL DETERRENCE project brought the nuclear and extended families of the project together at @PolsciCph for two days of engrossing discussions (ritualdeterrence.eu/events/) - so much so that we barely remembered to take a pic before concluding.

Military AI optimists mistake one kind of logic (induction) as another (abduction). Why? Because narrow AI can't do the latter and never will.

Many thanks to the forbearance of my co-author, @bleddb who I have been hassling with this paper for longer than we care to admit. However, it is his fault I had so much Clausewitz in my head when exposed to military AI hype, the two then colliding horribly into this project.
