OUTAGE UPDATE (4:30 PM): Crews are actively working to restore power for customers impacted by today's strong wind gusts. As of this update, crews are responding to 45 active outages affecting approximately 163 customers. Safety is our top priority, and our teams are on the ground assessing damage and making repairs as quickly as possible. High winds exceeding 25 mph, can make restoration more challenging, especially when bucket trucks can’t be used safely. In these cases, our crews may need to climb poles, which can take more time. Thank you for your understanding as we work to restore your power safely and efficiently. SAFETY REMINDERS: 💨 Secure loose outdoor items! Strong wind gusts can blow away patio furniture, decorations, trash cans, and other unsecured objects. Please take precautions to secure these items and help prevent damage or potential safety hazards. 🛑 Remember to #MoveOver or #SlowDown when approaching crews working along roadways. Give them plenty of space to work safely. ⚠️ Stay away from downed power lines and always treat them as energized. Do NOT approach, touch, or drive over a downed line. Report downed power lines immediately to 210-353-HELP (4357). We appreciate our community’s patience as crews continue working safely to restore power. 📲 Report or view outages at cpsenergy.com/outagecenter. Continue following CPS Energy for updates. OUTAGE UPDATE (2:15 PM): Strong winds continue to impact the San Antonio area, causing outages across portions of our service area. As of this update, crews are responding to 66 active outages affecting approximately 3,233 customers. Our crews are actively assessing damage and working to safely restore power. However, strong winds can create additional challenges particularly when using bucket trucks to access power lines. When wind speeds exceed 25 mph, our crews may need to climb poles instead of using bucket trucks to safely complete repairs. These conditions can extend restoration times. ⚡ A clear space around electrical equipment helps keep our community safe! You may have noticed green transformer boxes in yards or throughout your neighborhood. These boxes are an important part of the electrical system that helps deliver power to homes and businesses. Keeping the areas around them clear allows CPS Energy crews to safely access equipment for inspections, maintenance, and repairs when needed. 🌿 Avoid planting trees, shrubs, or other vegetation too close to electrical equipment. 🚧 Keep landscaping materials, decorations, and other objects away from transformer boxes. ⚠️ Never attempt to open, move, or tamper with electrical equipment. Help us keep these areas clear and accessible so our crews can work safely and efficiently.

If you regularly leave your house during the day for work or school, a programmable wifi thermostat can help conserve energy when you're not home by automatically shutting off your HVAC system. Not only does this lower your energy bill, but you'll also be eligible to enroll in our Wifi Thermostat Rewards Program for even more savings! How it works: ✅ New and existing WiFi thermostats can be enrolled. ✅ Participants receive a one-time $85 rebate for each eligible thermostat they enroll. ✅ Participants receive $30 for every year they remain enrolled. ✅ We may briefly adjust your thermostat during peak energy demand, but you can override this if needed. Trees are great for improving air quality and keeping your home cool…BUT they can create safety risks when they get a little too close to power lines. 🌲⚠️ Overgrown branches can also become an issue during the winter, when ice accumulates and weighs down tree limbs. For customer-owned trees that come within 10 feet of our electric lines, only certified tree-trimming professionals are permitted to perform the work, due to the increased safety hazards. If you believe a tree on your property is encroaching on our power lines, please call 210-353-2222 before taking any action. You can also learn more about safe trimming distances at cpsenergy.com/treetrimming. ✂️🍃
