“i’m trying to find someone,” comes the scientist’s gentle words. she passes the caps to the stranger, measured and careful, before her hands slip into her pockets once more.
“someone dear to me. i believe he was last seen in a small settlement. i’m tryin’ to find it.”
“i don’t think it would, either.”
she huffs once, almost a sound of amusement, before returning to her work. she’s focused and quiet for quite some time before she deems it fit to ask the question that’s weighing heavily on her mind.
