Just finished this wonderful and moving sequel to @nmgarrard’s “29 Locks”. Can’t wait to promote it to @ColfesSchool students. “One of the very best pieces of fiction to come out of the refugee crisis” @anthony_mcgowan. Simultaneously heartbreaking and uplifting.
It's @colfesschool drop everything and read day! All students and their teachers are reading together at the start of every single lesson - and there's a visit by @brixtonbard to look forward to this afternoon. Reminding everyone to make time to read for pleasure.
Happy morning celebrating reading with people from schools all over the UK, who believe in giving kids time and space to read, and finding books that will interest each child. This is why we have Library lessons for all @ColfesSchool KS3, and a Library that is open all day long.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. READING FOR PLEASURE has the biggest positive impact of any factor in children's life chances. There's nothing more important. So whatever else you do - please never stop helping kids to read & fall in love with books!

Great end to the year @ColfesSchool - 638 books lent since 3 July! Only 39 overdue books - thanks to form tutors and house staff for their help with book recovery.
This is why we have regular Library lessons for all Year 7-9 @ColfesSchool and why we really want to find books that the students will enjoy. Thanks @ColfesEnglish for making this a priority.
