Kaci worked on her “ice cream” holder and it turned out pretty good. @LeffingwellDan We will give some away at @AppSTEMCollab next week. #STEM @school_caldwell
But we can’t QB but this is OK…@MattFinkes
I’m with @MattFinkes , the QB can be protected but so many calls for absolutely nothing. They too often change the game.

Hey STEM teachers, do you have kids creating conveyor belts using @VEXRobotics or @PLTWorg?
This is another future career opportunity:
Active engagement, not compliance. Plus standards are not forgotten just for the sake of “hands-on”. Will blend in standards as students progress through the design and check for mastery progress at end of week. @AutodeskEDU

@AppSTEMCollab @OSLN @PLTWorg My CAD class was given the task to design a table with a trap door for our BattleBots team. Given a real budget and to design an “awesome” table for our bot arena. Winning design will be built and have their name and graduation year displayed.

2/2…after a brief discussion, she added, it could be for cereal, make another design for baby food, and other things where you hold a container plus a spoon or fork. #designprocess #engagement And guess what, I don’t have to get on her because it is meaningful.
1/2 @OSLN @PLTWorg @dailystem Kaci is one of my #IED students. She finished her project for learning basic CAD with @adskFusion early and I asked her, “What would make your life easier?” She responded, “something to hold my ice cream.” Going thru design process now…

Dropping table and chairs off at Pleasant Power Plant. These things are humongous and driving by them doesn’t compare to being at the base.
Robotics class continues our #battlebots “Demobot” today to work on collaboration and our design process. #Engineering @BattleBots
Our Battlebot teams in @school_caldwell #Robotics #battlebots had 2hrs and 40 minutes to design and build a “Demobot” using anything in the room. Regardless of win/lose, we worked on collaboration and the pressure of a time constraint.
We wrap up week 2 with another Spiral assessment. I grade for mastery and we track by student and class. Will spiral back thru first couple weeks of standards next week as we introduce CAD. Poe moves into blueprint reading next week.
Students in @pltw #IED working on their first round objective this morning. A little tougher than straight edges and rectangles but doing well for first attempt. @school_caldwell
2/2 @PLTWorg @osln @school_caldwell Students get the indicators for the week, an assessment at the end of the week that they score and track their personal data.

Nothing fancy but the start of our 1st @BattleBots prototype #1lb. We will have at least 4 teams competing this year. @linn_yost @AppSTEMCollab
Year 30 for me starts tonight with open house. 3rd yr of CTE @school_caldwell tchg @PLTWorg #Engineering, #manufacturing, ldrshp, and #drones Kids get here tomorrow and we are off!
Break out some classic socks…I know @Morgan_Supt rocks some socks but I bet he doesn’t have a pair of these. Day I had my heart attack, after the shock, first thing @LeffingwellDan did was take a picture of these I as I lay in the ER in nothing but socks and a gown.
