@irishnewssport here is the press release you were sent
This headline does not ‘accurately reflect’ what was said. Nowhere in this press release, or podcast. does your headline or your claim make an appearance.
The ‘GAA’ was never mentioned and the full podcast gives context to PhD research and a discussion on global sports governance and leadership.
The fact you didn’t fact check or listen to the original source before publishing in a national paper making a statement about me IS lazy and unprofessional.
You’ve a duty to publish accurately.
You’ve used a false clickbait headline to get attention for which I’ve received hundreds of personal abusive messages on numerous platforms off the back off this headline.
I’d expect at the very least for you to have done proper research for overall context.
GAA players are reluctant to chat to media as is, this does a disservice to the good journalists out there who do their work before publishing something controversial.
Very disappointing @irishnewssport

Conor, Kenny here - ‘lazy journalism’ is a cheap jibe. I never suggested you spoke to me. I was sent a press release by PR people for TritonLake, who provided the quotes. If you didn’t say that, have a go at them, not me.
A completely misleading clickbait heading… considering I never spoke with Kenny Archer or the @irishnewssport either this is lazy journalism.
A point I made on a podcast didn’t specifically mention the GAA but Sport. People jumping on the headlines obviously haven’t listened to the podcast either.
Former Tyrone football star Conor Meyler has highlighted “white middle class male privilege” in the GAA, contrasting that with the ongoing struggles for females in Gaelic games.

Stunning performance by Nick Griggs to win the U-23 Euro Cross title by 12 seconds and lead Ireland to team gold.
His training partner Callum Morgan with a huge run too in 8th, with Niall Murphy 10th.
Yet to turn 21, Griggs now has SEVEN medals from the European Cross Country.
Time to listen to the body and hang up the boots.
Grateful to have lived my dream with club and county for over a decade, Football has been a truly beautiful pursuit.
To everyone who supported me along the way, thank you.

Inter-county players haven’t seen a funding increase since 2008.
We’re asking Gov to deliver on its commitment to elite athletes: Ask
*1.5% annual rise
* €2.80/day
*Protect amateur status
Players give everything. It’s time they’re properly supported similar to other Athletes
The GPA is seeking an increase in the government grant available to inter-county players to an average of €2500 per individual player. This increase would represent just a 1.5% annualised increase since 2008, when the grants were originally introduced.
