I’m going to try to save myself the energy of constantly trying to prove myself to others and hope maybe @RanaAyyub, @thewire_in, and other “progressive” people and outlets would read this. You all need to do better.

The selected silences continue. The word "rape" is removed from another review. More influential friends close ranks around Mahmood Farooqui, ensuring women know that powerful men will not be held accountable for their actions. This is a disgrace. @KarvaanIndia @Asad_Ashraf88

This is a beautiful sight. I am filled with hope.
Brother @LulaOficial - you are a true man of the people, not just of the Brazilian people but the people of the world.

SOS messages coming in from Pandwala Khurd where the Delhi Police dumped a bunch of protestors after allegedly assaulting some of them quite badly. Now a mob of goons has gathered outside the community centre they were left at. There is no medical treatment for the injured kids, no transport and no security from the menacing crowd that has obviously been allowed to gather to “teach a lesson” to the protestors.
@AmitShah and @DelhiPolice this is on you.

It’s really up to the Hon’ble Supreme Court and the Hon’ble Delhi High Court if they wish to remain relevant for people and true to their constitutional oath.
On 10th October, Delhi Police detained and assaulted many lawyers, senior and junior.
Many peaceful protesters were brutally assaulted by the police.
Police is brazenly assaulting protesters. The videos are all in the public domain. No dearth of evidence.
Young Leaders and journalists continue to be held in illegal detention.
Peaceful assembly and protests are constitutional.
Standing orders denying permission are illegal !
Law and Order cannot subvert democracy!

The Pentagon is planning to livestream an execution by firing squad. That is not justice. It is spectacle.
We should be horrified by any attempt to turn state-sanctioned killing into public viewing. Violence does not become moral because the government carries it out. Death does not become justice because it is legal.
We must be able to hold people accountable for horrific acts without becoming more comfortable with killing.
A society that normalizes public execution is not moving closer to justice. It is moving further away from humanity.

Now my colleague @ShoaibDaniyal, Scroll’s political editor, has been detained near CR Park — nowhere near Jantar Mantar. My colleague @sighyush was detained earlier in the day. This is unacceptable.

Absolutely brilliant that SFI, AISA, the CPI(M) and the Left have taken the protest to other parts of Delhi.
(INA and access to the Jantar Mantar radial further up partly blocked as of now, be careful if you're out.)
Already clear that the protesters have won the day. Imagine bringing in 25,000-odd troops, cutting off transport and the Internet, barricading the city's central hub — and still they can't stop Delhi from showing up.

Modi has accepted defeat even before our protest has begun.
The mass crackdown on protesters and the shutdown of Delhi are not signs of strength, but of a leader terrified of his own people.

🚨 BREAKING
Printing presses across Delhi are reportedly refusing to print posters and other materials for tomorrow’s protest, allegedly due to police pressure. When even printing protest posters becomes a problem, it shows just how far the authorities are willing to go to suppress dissent. Shameful!
NONE of us has any right to think that this doesn't affect us. These plain-clothed men opened fire on a car in the middle of the day. A child was inside the car and other children were getting out of school.
ICE has no place in our city. ICE has no place in the US. We all need to stand up and protect our neighbors as we protect ourselves. This could be any of us.
Mamdani: This afternoon, a New Yorker was shot by ICE agents. ICE agents surrounded the man's vehicle before opening fire. They wore construction vests and masks that concealed their faces. There was no reasonable way to way to identify them as JCE agents. School had just gotten out. The street was crowded with families and children. When ICE agents opened fire. A five year old child, a five year old child was in the car.

The allegations in the Cornell sexual assault case are deeply disturbing and gut-wrenching. Cornell University has failed this survivor.
I fully support Governor Hochul's decision to name Attorney General James as special prosecutor in this case and look forward to the complete and extensive investigation that is to come.
Accountability and justice cannot simply be values, they must also be delivered.
