I would love to see the Mariners trade for someone like Maikel Garcia and then an additional full-time bat that is a middle of the order bat. Garcia has an absolute hose at 3B. Would be the best since Beltre. I would call up the Red Sox and see if a Kirby/Abreu trade is possible.

Base paths. It’s not perfect, that’s for sure. But again, it’s semi-realistic. To me, Garcia is a no brainer. He has always been healthy until this year. Plays a great 3B and 2B. Good on the base paths, awesome defense. Put up a great offensive year last year, doesn’t strikeout.

The only positives I heard from Jerry is he mentioned Donovan moving all around. And he said Colt can play either 3B or SS. I like that, because it should mean they will use Donovan as a super utility and they will try to get the best SS or 3B they can.

Whether I like Jerry Dipoto GM of the Seattle Mariners or not. He is a control freak and makes all the decisions in Seattle. He hired Dan Wilson and Wilson was about as qualified as my mom. @Mariners. Dipoto should be fired. He wants yes men. Tin man. Never is fault of his.

As usual, Nathan is spot on. I am stunned by how many fans took comfort in that presser. Jerry used buzz words, but between the lines, he said “my roster is just fine. The process is fine. The coaching just wasn’t good. This was an aberration of a year. We will be fine.” Loser.

But at the end of the day what is actually happening - what is actually changing - is the team is getting a new coaching staff. That's it. The kind of mid-level changes you see most orgs do after a failed year. Behind the show and words there are no real changes of merit

You need to find a team that will take Dominguez. You can’t afford to pay him that for his production. 20-30 is nothing in this league these days. Jerry needs to find a way to get creative and legitimately improve this roster.

I've got the Mariners payroll at about $145m going into the offseason. This is with quite a bit of estimating on my part for arb amounts so give or take ~$5m. This is down from end of year's $168m adjusted payroll. I assume the Mariners have $20-30m to spend in the offseason.

My guess is the #Mariners will turn in the direction of a proven manager to take over the position. However, there are a few guys I think that could be quality first-time managers that understand the game/have had experience with it before in some capacity: Albert Pujols, Mark Prior, Kai Correa, Steve Souza Jr., and Mike Napoli. There is absolutely just me speculating but I'd also be intrigued to see if Justin Turner or Chase Utley could fit the mold of a manager or bench coach in the future. #TridentsUp #MLB
