Fun fact: Lower Manhattan needs about 1,000 ft of sidewalk to house them. Long Island needs about 30 miles of sidewalk for the same number of residents

After years of delays, Maryland’s Purple Line is finally entering its endgame.
Theis new fall progress video shows just how close this transformative project is getting:
• 92% of construction complete
• 16 miles of new light rail
• 21 stations
• All track installed
• All 28 trains delivered
• Testing underway across more than half the route
• Passenger service expected in winter 2027
The Purple Line will connect Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park and New Carrollton without requiring riders to travel through downtown DC.
