Meeting Minutes on a Friday?! It's weird for us too, but the winter storms rearranged our meeting schedule, which means your Charlotte City Council's monthly committee meetings happened yesterday instead of the first Monday of the month. So, yeah... Meeting Minutes on a Friday! Check out our breakdown of all the important topics from 4 of the 5 council committees. Why 4? The Transportation, Planning and Development Committee had a prior commitment to attend Council Member Malcolm Graham's town hall. As always, you can watch the full committee meetings live on YouTube, the GOV Channel or our GOV Channel app.

It's a beautiful day to stay off the roads and stay home! As we expect more powdery snow throughout the day, the roads are slippery and can become dangerous.

It's been eight months since we last highlighted Charlotte's upcoming youth behavioral facility, the Katie Blessing Center. In that time, a lot of great work has been done to ensure a 2026 opening for Phase 1. Phase 1 will bring 48 acute inpatient beds, telehealth services, indoor recreation space, an outdoor courtyard, and a 6-10 chair Behavioral Health Urgent Care to the renovated facility. Phase 2, scheduled for 2027, will be a three-story addition to the existing building. The City of Charlotte is proud to support the Katie Blessing Center as it takes shape in East Charlotte. To learn more about the center's origins, check out our previous video at cltgov.me/kbc. #KatieBlessingCenter #EastCharlotte #YouthBehavioralHealth #MentalHealth #Healthcare
