We have lost touch with our staff in Gaza, with health facilities, health workers and the rest of our humanitarian partners on the ground. This siege makes me gravely concerned for their safety and the immediate health risks of vulnerable patients. We urge immediate protection of all civilians and full humanitarian access.

All for self care, AND when advocacy and your own kid’s need overlap…. vacation #ShabbyStrong style. 💕💖 #MentalHealthisPublicHealth #OhioRise #OnOurSleeves

#ShabbyStrong got a sneaky grin & says “They no wash my plate. I throw away. Look, I have new color plate & cup now!” This kid. Her advocacy skills are on point…. She often uses her words, but when that’s not working, she finds another way. @BDPerry @stuartablon

International Overdose Day is a painful reminder to so many families across Ohio. As we mourn those we’ve lost and seek to help those struggling with addiction, we must keep working to #EndOverdose in our communities.

Yesterday, #ShabbyStrong told me a hard story & led the problem-solving. As we chatted, I thanked her for her patience & for her permission to use her story to help the other kids. She just beamed & says, “I so proud I help the all kids” @BDPerry @stuartablon @TVillageNetwork

Emergency safety proofing. Round one of removing access to items historically used for self-harm. Maybe there will be time to clean later 🥺

Tomorrow, it is expected that they will either force discharge of #ShabbyStrong or report me to Children’s Services. I am honored w/ the privilege of an amazing team & just the right moment in politics; maybe we can cause good trouble. May we make the system better.

In addition to being on the frontlines of land degradation and climate change impacts, women should also be at the forefront of global efforts to restore land back to health & boost drought resilience. More from @UNCCD on #DesertificationAndDroughtDay. unccd.int/events/desertifica…

I stand by, fighting like hell for #ShabbyStrong who’s back inpatient, as I watch three years of hard work slip away. To see what just a few months of inadequate care has done for her brings me to the darkest of days. CMR is lower now than 04.2022 @BDPerry

#ShabbyStrong has advocated for her needs like a rock star…. It took literal trauma, but we are grateful for her to be in her new home. @BDPerry @NeuroSequential PS. She says thanks for helping, Dr. Berry 😊💖

🧵 They took a walk… not a stroll…Its a hard foot strike with every single step…. It’s at a pace of 80 beats per minute…she knows that walk… it’s her safety net. Regulate. Then kiddo talked and the staff listened. Relate. Then, staff coaxed her back inside. Reason.…

Regulate.Relate.Reason. Because of everyone who cared and attended to her needs, she’s playing cards with peers and not at the ER. THIS is why these little things matter. When adults prioritize kid need over compliance beauty happens.
