Excited to post or latest study on polymicrobial interactions in a CF model community. The study from Bassam el Hafi and @FabriceJPierre highlight the complex back-and-forth that allows Prevotella grow with help from P. aeruginosa.

Beyond excited to share this preprint of my work looking at how P. aeruginosa’s surface motility influences S. aureus spatial organization, physiology, and survival.
Check out our newest preprint:
P. aeruginosa uses pilus-mediated motility to invade and disperse S. aureus biofilms, rendering Sa cells susceptible to Pa antimicrobials. Without invasion Pa restricts Sa expansion forming dense Sa colonies with altered physiology @asanchezpena_
