Xabi got it completely wrong. Sitting back and conceding possession at Stamford Bridge is not acceptable. Especially against Tottenham. You have to use the energy of the crowd. Very very cowardly showing by Alonso today. Was too wary of spurs (a bottom half team that hasn't been clinical at all). Saw that Hendo was putting in a shocker and didnt swap for Lavia (at least take a chance at keeping the ball). No Welbeck until 88'.
Xabi Alonso, I hope you learn from this because today you have horribly mismanaged this game and misjudged how massive of a fixture it is for this club especially at home. JP is out, bummer, start a focal point like Welbeck so that at least there is some pressure on spurs' goal
Ik he prob wanted us to have a good press because Welbeck is a statue. However, spurs have had some good chances regardless and are simply not clinical. I think everyone would rather we actually be able to connect some passes and control the game instead of praying for a mistake
