Today, the NHL Alumni family mourns the loss of Ron Duguay, a cherished member of our hockey family whose legacy reaches far beyond the game he loved so dearly. Ron lived life with an extraordinary passion, an infectious smile, and a heart that was truly larger than life. Above all else, his deepest and most sincere love was for his family. They were his greatest pride, his greatest joy, and always closest to his heart. His dedication and passion for the game of hockey were unwavering. Hockey was more than a sport to Ron; it was a part of who he was, a lifelong love that he carried with pride and shared so generously with others. But perhaps what made Ron most special was his humanity. His genuine compassion, kindness, and willingness to help others always extended far beyond himself. He cared deeply, gave generously of his heart, and had a remarkable way of making everyone around him feel valued and appreciated. Ron greeted each day with the biggest smile, an incredible zest for life, and a positive outlook that shone through everything he saw, everything he did, and every life he touched. He will be remembered not only for the player he was, but for the extraordinary person he was. His warmth, his laughter, his kindness, and his beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, teammates, and the entire NHL Alumni community. Our deepest love and heartfelt condolences go out to Ron’s family and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved him. Rest in peace, Ron. Your smile, your heart, and your love for life will never be forgotten. ❤️🏒 Forever a part of our NHL Alumni family.

Had the pleasure of meeting Ron several times, he was so generous with his time and was always there for the fans and any cause to help benefit the community, Sad day
The New York Rangers organization mourns the loss of Ron Duguay, one of the most popular players in franchise history. Ron's signature skating style - with his hair flowing as he moved down the ice - captivated The Garden Faithful, and his skill, tenacity, and charisma earned him the admiration of all New Yorkers. We join the hockey community in sending our condolences to Ron's friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Some prospects haven’t showed well lately, it’s a great reminder to young players, if you don’t have your “A Game,” find a way to be noticeable, it’s better to be noticed working hard and grinding than being invisible, Developing a “B Game” is critical at the next level

Do players these days really know how to practice? Obviously, practice has to be fun, but every minor hockey coach has an obligation to make sure young players learn the value and importance of practice and how that will help their development moving forward #PracticeWithPurpose

So many young players struggle away from the puck, they’re so anxious to get going on the offensive side, they cheat all over the ice, you want to get noticed play both sides with the same drive and intensity #HonestPlayer #TwoWayPlayer #CompletePlayer

Putting lines in a blender is a temporary solution to a big problem, Players need consistency & time in order to develop chemistry it’s hard to build trust amongst players & coaches when players have no clue what to expect or who they’re playing with

You can have all of the talent and skill you want, but if you have players that are lacking a will to compete you won't be successful, Every team wants to be "tough to play against" that will never happen if you lack character and grit

There’s nothing better than seeing a player rediscover their passion and love for the game after a brutal experience with a coach and toxic hockey culture #TrueCharacter #Resiliency @TheCoachesSite

Another entertaining hockey game tonight between @HFXMooseheads and the @monctonwildcats, Malik L’Italien turned in a very strong performance, plays a similar style to that of Jay Bouwmesster, definitely projects to be a mid 1st round pick or higher @_Neutral_Zone @QMJHL

One can only imagine how a solid honest player with offensive upside must feel playing with entitled linemates that constantly demand the puck, never work for it and never pass, clearly the honest player is on a better trajectory than their linemates

There’s a future College, Major Junior and Pro hockey player playing on a AAA Minor, AA or A team right now All they need is someone to believe in them and give them a chance that they deserve, The door of opportunity slams shut on young players due to resume or the extra “A”
