Care deserves care.
For many migrant women, domestic work means essential care without legal safeguards — increasing exposure to exploitation and abuse.

In case you were wondering: the Taliban leaders send their daughters to fancy schools in Qatar and Pakistan.
“Just for the record do your two daughters go to school?
Head of Taliban Office in Qatar - Of course they do.
This sums it all up. For their own daughters nothing is forbidden while for poor girls living in Afghanistan everything is forbidden.

Inflation didn’t just kill purchasing power, it helped shrink American families
A new working paper shows that unexpected inflation had a negative, significant impact on the total fertility rate in the U.S. from 2004-2023.
Are rising prices to blame, or is there a deeper demographic unraveling?

Safe public spaces help children stay physically and mentally healthy, build social and learning skills, bring communities together and support climate resilience.
But only 44% of people living in cities have access to nearby public open spaces, and 30% in low- and middle-income countries – and these spaces are shrinking.
@WHO is proud to partner with @UNICEF and @UNHABITAT to issue a new Guide to Creating Urban Public Spaces for Children, which provide evidence-based options to help governments design safe and inclusive spaces for health, play and development.

Kawandi quilts. made by women of the Siddi people, descendants of early African migrants to South Asia #womensart #QuiltArtWeek
In Sudan, 9.5 million people are internally displaced across 18 states, making it the world’s largest internal displacement crisis.
For nearly three years, Sudan’s children have been enduring - and continue to endure - a humanitarian catastrophe driven by conflict, displacement, disease and hunger.
UNICEF continues to stay on the ground, delivering life-saving, essential services with partners for children and families affected - including health and nutrition, safe water, psychosocial support and education.
However, the crisis remains severely under-reported and underfunded.
Children in Sudan need long-lasting peace and stability NOW.

Asma Gholami is an innocent Afghan girl, denied education in Afghanistan, and even in exile she faces barriers, fear, and threat of deportation. For Afghan girls and women banned from schooling, the #InternationalDayOfEducation holds little meaning. Raise your voice for them.
A destroyed home, ongoing airstrikes, fear of shrapnel - despite these harsh realities, 12-year-old Ghazal shows up for her community garden in north Gaza.
“My dream - that the war ends, that life becomes better, things become better for us,” she says.
Watch her story and join us in calling for long-lasting peace.

Today is the International Day of Education.
Let’s not forget Afghanistan — the only country in the world where girls’ education is banned.
1,590 days since teenage girls were barred from school, and 1,130 days since women were shut out of universities by the Taliban.
Please support online education program. Despite fear and restrictions, Afghan girls are secretly continuing their studies. Your help can help them to join classes and learn more.
Please give them hope and smile 🍃🙏

Science confirms: raising children with pets builds stronger empathy and emotional intelligence.
Growing up with a pet does far more than provide companionship—it serves as a powerful natural training ground for developing social and emotional skills.
Research shows that children who regularly care for animals become significantly better at reading nonverbal cues — such as a dog’s wagging tail, a cat’s flattened ears, or a rabbit’s subtle body language. These everyday interactions teach kids to recognize others’ needs and respond with genuine compassion, cultivating responsibility, perspective-taking, and empathy.
Because animals depend entirely on their human caregivers for food, water, safety, and affection, children quickly learn the real consequences of their actions and the importance of consistent, nurturing care — lessons that naturally transfer to their relationships with family, friends, and peers.
The emotional bond formed with a pet also offers a unique pathway for emotional regulation and resilience. Simply petting an animal has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety levels in children, helping them manage their own emotions while simultaneously learning to respect and respond to the feelings of another living being.
These benefits are long-lasting: studies show that children raised with pets often develop higher self-esteem, stronger social skills, and greater empathy that persists into adolescence and beyond.
By practicing kindness, communication, and caregiving with a pet, children build a solid foundation of empathy that equips them to navigate the complexities of human relationships with greater sensitivity and understanding.

Speaking of baby birds, who could resist these little cuties? Tawny "owlets" are fed by their parents for around 5 weeks before they fledge and are then still dependant for another three months while they learn the skills needed to hunt and fend for themselves. During this period they often wedge themselves tightly together into small spaces such as hollow stumps for warmth and companionship!
The iconic "twit-twoo" call of the Tawny owl was often seen, in the past, as a portent of ill omen, and so has translated into a Hollywood horror staple: the single owl, sillhouetted against a darkening sky as a precursor to the macabre events to follow. But in fact, the "twit-twoo" call is actually a love duet between the male and his female lover. FIrst the call for a mate, and then a song of identification between them. More Jeanette MacDonand and Nelson Eddy than Jekyll and Hyde!
