- The bill was a partial restriction, not a full ban. DEMS have been pushing a harder version that requires divestiture & covers the White House.
- AND HERE’S CLINCHER: Republicans attached a voter-ID / SAVE Act provision to it!! Clearly a poison pill proving the GOP wasn’t even trying to oppose inside trading.

The U.S. Constitution gives the Senate the explicit power to police its own members. Under Article I, Section 5, the Senate may punish members for "disorderly behavior." If a senator knowingly uses fabricated evidence or acts dishonorably, the Senate can issue internal disciplinary actions.
