US imposes antidumping duties over 630% on India, yet accuses India of misusing WTO-compliant duties. This narrative undermines India's supply chain resilience, especially in times of global crisis.

India’s Union Budget 2026–27 signals a calibrated push towards strengthening manufacturing competitiveness.
In my latest column for @BWBusinessworld , I examine how fiscal discipline, infrastructure expansion, targeted capital incentives, and support for emerging sectors such as data centres and advanced manufacturing are shaping India’s industrial trajectory.
At the same time, structural challenges , including inverted duty structures and input cost disparities, require careful policy attention to ensure domestic value addition remains globally competitive.
A balanced, forward-looking manufacturing strategy will determine how effectively India translates growth momentum into long-term industrial resilience.
