ALT Accountabilities: Researching and analyzing a wide range of social and economic issues and their policy dimensions to create and edit reports, briefs, policy statements, special and commissioned studies, and the like. Writing peer-reviewed reports and content for CCPA publications and communications channels. Researching and liaising with various networks regarding current and emerging issues, changing legislation and analyzing federal budgets. Applying statistical skills to provide data analysis. Under the direction of Christine Saulnier (NS Office Director), the Research Assistant represents the CCPA, as assigned, as a progressive research institute achieving impact through research projects and events by: Representing the CCPA in partnership and public fora, as required. Contributing to expanding the reach of the CCPA’s work through outreach and engagement with diverse stakeholders within the broader research community. Arrow pointing right

ALT Qualifications cont... Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills allowing for the successful translation of quantitative conclusions into a lay understanding of the practical and policy implications. Effective project management and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple priorities in a sometimes-hectic environment, maintaining a with high regard for quality, accuracy, and attention to detail. Excellent judgment, integrity, discretion and demonstrated problem-solving, consultative and conflict resolution skills to provide technical advice on a variety of issues to a variety of audiences. Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaboratively and virtually within a team in a diverse and inclusive workplace and with diverse and inclusive partners is essential. Bilingualism in Canada’s two official languages is an asset.

ALT Recommendations on Reducing Child Poverty on PEI. 1) Set targets and a timeline to reduce and eliminate poverty. 2) Invest to address income security 3) Invest to expand affordable child care 4) Realize the right to housing as a human right for all by funding enough non-market housing to ensure everyone has access to the affordable housing they need. 5) The provincial government work to ensure decent work for all 6) Establish a full universal Pharmacare program.
