It’s still Sunday, but your mind is already on Monday. The inbox waiting for you. The responsibilities you’re trying to keep up with. A situation you wish you didn’t have to face.
You may feel that worry building as the evening goes on—even if you’ve spent the day trying to relax. If that’s where you are tonight, you’re not alone. 💚
You don’t have to figure out the whole week before you go to bed. For now, ask yourself: “What would help me feel a little more supported tonight?” Maybe it’s talking with someone, writing down what’s worrying you or giving yourself permission to leave a few things for tomorrow.
📞 If the worry feels heavy, call or text 988 for free, confidential support, 24/7. You can talk about what’s ahead and how you’re feeling right now.
You deserve care tonight, too.

Today, on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we hold space for those remembering a baby and the future they imagined together. 🕯️
your love and your loss matter. You don’t have to explain why it still hurts or set aside your grief to make others comfortable.
If someone you love is grieving, let them know you remember, too. Listen if they want to talk, and let them know they don’t have to pretend they’re okay with you. 💚
Contra Costa Crisis Center offers grief support. Learn more at crisis-center.org. If you need someone to listen today—or in the quiet hours tonight—call or text 988.

Maybe you’re showing up for everyone else while quietly wondering how much longer you can keep going.
When you’ve been hurting for a long time, it can be hard to picture anything feeling different. You deserve care in that place, too—not only when you have the energy to ask for it. 💚
You don’t have to put on a brave face or find the right words. “I’m having a hard time, and I need someone to listen” is enough.
📞 Call or text 988 for free, confidential support, 24/7. Someone can listen while you share what’s been weighing on you and help you take the next step.

On National Coming Out Day🏳️🌈, we’re sending a message to our LGBTQ+ community:
You belong.
Your feelings matter. You deserve care and respect.
Whether you’re living openly, questioning, choosing who to tell or keeping this part of your life private, your identity is valid.
Coming out is a personal decision. You get to choose your timing, consider your safety and decide what feels right for you.
For friends and family, support can begin with a few simple words:
“Thank you for trusting me.”
“I care about you.”
“What would feel supportive right now?”
Listen without judgment, respect their privacy and let them lead. 💚
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, isolated or distressed, call 988 or text 988. You deserve someone who will listen.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s make more room for honest answers to “How are you?”
Sometimes the answer is “I’m overwhelmed.”
Sometimes it’s “I’ve been feeling alone.”
Sometimes it’s “I don’t know how to explain it, but I’m having a hard time.”
Every one of those answers deserves care.
When someone opens up, listen without rushing to fix everything. Ask what would help. Let their experience guide the conversation.
And if you’re the one struggling, you don’t need the perfect explanation to reach out. You can start with: “I need someone to talk to.” 💚
Call 988 or text 988 for support with emotional distress.

A reminder to pause and take your mental health seriously.
If changes in your mood, energy, sleep or interest in everyday life have been lingering, consider talking with a healthcare or mental health professional. You don’t have to figure out what’s happening on your own.
💚 If you’re experiencing emotional distress and need someone to listen now, call 988 or text 988.

Sometimes a child’s hardest day isn’t about homework. It’s about being left out, laughed at or afraid of what will happen tomorrow.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month—a reminder to pay attention to how children feel at school, in their friendships and online.
Make space for a conversation without rushing to an answer. Try asking:
“Who do you feel comfortable around?”
“Is there a part of your day you wish you could skip?”
If your child shares that they’re being bullied, start with: “I’m glad you told me. This isn’t your fault. We’ll work through this together.”
Listen, take their concerns seriously and involve a trusted teacher or school staff member to help create a plan for safety and support. 💚
If you’re concerned about your child’s emotional well-being or need support yourself, call 988 or text 988.

Someone can show up for work, care for their family and laugh with friends—and still be struggling with their mental health.
During Mental Illness Awareness Week, make room for what we may not see.
Hear them when someone says they’re having a hard time. Resist the urge to compare their experience to someone else’s. Instead of “But you seem fine,” try: “Thank you for telling me. How can I support you?”
Showing someone that you believe them and care about them is a meaningful place to start. 💚
If you’re experiencing emotional distress or worried about someone you love, call 988 or text 988. You deserve to be heard.

When kids come home from school, give them a moment to arrive.
They may have spent the entire day following directions, meeting expectations, navigating friendships and holding in feelings they weren’t ready to share.
Before the questions about homework, the reminder about chores or the conversation about rules, pause and make room for connection.💚
Offer a snack. Sit nearby. Let the silence be okay. Try asking:
“Do you want to tell me about your day—or do you need a little time first?”
They may not open up right away. But your calm presence lets them know that when they are ready, you are there to hear them—not just correct them or solve the problem.
If your child is struggling emotionally, you’re concerned about their safety or you need support yourself, call or text 988. Help is available 24/7 for both children and parents.

Are you currently experiencing a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)? When there’s a risk of a wildfire, utility companies may need to turn off power as a last resort to ensure public safety.
Call 211 or text "PSPS" to 211-211 for connections to PSPS resources, including transportation, lodging, and food resource replacement, or get screened for direct assistance.
