Explaining #russianinvasion to my 4 year old. Trying to reinforce preschooler ideas of diplomacy (use your words) over force. Wishing for sovereignty, peace, and not having to have these conversations. 😢🤦🏼‍♀️ #IStandWithUkraine

Conflict in inevitable. The question is do we avoid it (often a human preference, but eventually it explodes), engage it poorly (the preference of many of the loudest voices), or engage it productively? The latter is what we most need to build capacity for in our communities.
There is value in disagreement. Don’t let it deter you from having conversations.

if you are vaccinated and boosted Why should you care what others do? Because we all need a functioning healthcare system For the kid's appendicitis Or friend's car accident Or family member's cancer surgery Vaccines keep hospitals from becoming dysfunctional during a surge

In conclusion: A lot of pundits, politicians, and other commentators seem to think Covid-19 is not a big deal for young adults. I propose that most of them are in communities that have been able to avoid the virus. That's a myopic way to view the world and leads to complacency.

I'm seeing some people still claiming Wyoming's COVID deaths are comparable to flu deaths. This is aggressively wrong. Wyoming's deadliest flu season on record killed 29 people. The state reported 55 COVID deaths today alone.

4. 57% of the entire population is fully vaccinated 4 states have crossed the 70% threshold: VT, CT, RI, and ME 15 states are below 50% ID, WY, and WV are the least vaccinated states I'm worried about the winter ahead for these states 4/6

Bottom line We are in a better place But places with low vaccination rates remain at risk as it gets colder And older, vulnerable people not fully protected will remain at risk for poor outcomes We can absolutely avoid a bad winter We need to get everyone protected

For folks unsure whether to get your kids vaccinated against COVID (I think you should) Please talk to your pediatrician -- and listen to America's Pediatricians @AmerAcadPeds Ignore the random @Facebook dude Listen to physicians who have spent their lives caring for kids
We welcome today’s @WhiteHouse plan on vaccinating children ages 5-11 against COVID-19. Pediatricians are the backbone of childhood immunizations in this country, and this vaccine is no different. @AAPPres full statement here: aap.org/en/news-room/news-re…
