Diane Sabonis was sworn in this week as EMSA’s Chief Counsel. She joined EMSA in 2023 as attorney for the Paramedic Disciplinary Review Board and later served as advisor to the Director. She stepped in as EMSA’s lead attorney and has now been appointed to the role. #EMSA

CAL-MAT is supporting the Timber Fire in Monterey County. Since Friday, the team has been providing medical care at the CAL FIRE base camp. So far, they’ve treated 50 patients, and all 50 have been able to return to duty. Thanks to the team serving on this deployment. #CALMAT

This fire season, CAL-MAT has deployed to the Loomis, Rock, 3-6, and Gann fires to provide medical care at CAL FIRE base camps. The goal: to provide medical care and minimize impact on local medical systems. We're grateful for the teams doing this work behind the scenes! #CALMAT

Fire crews at the Loomis Fire Base Camp in Lassen County received support this week from EMSA and its CAL-MAT team. Since arriving on Sunday, the team provided care to responders including one hospital transport. The team will demobilize tomorrow, July 16. #CALMAT #LoomisFire

NEW: California just secured a Presidential Emergency Declaration for the Garden Grove hazmat incident. Working closely with local responders, the state has moved aggressively to protect residents in the impacted area. This morning, @OCFireAuthority announced that the risk of a massive explosion has been mitigated. This new federal assistance will further bolster our resources to help resolve this situation.
