Interesting yet concerning article in @HelloWorld_Edu about barriers for computing for girls in Europe. The UK girls having the lowest uptake of participation in computing. Would be keen to reflect on how we can address the 6 barriers identified. Maybe a topic for a @caschat_uk?

A1 Sorry I’m late, small child bedtime took ages! Topologies with spaghetti and marshmallows is a favourite, as is cache-RAM-secondary storage with three students walking between each other #caschat

A4 #CASChat Quick @Kahoot quizzes to start every learning sequence focusing on key words. Low stakes multiple choice. My classes absolutely ♥️ these as lesson starters.

A3 #CASChat busy night tonight and struggling to keep up! One of mine is having these original @TeamKano @RaspberryPi_org based Computer Kits Complete where the children get to 'build' or assemble parts to give them concrete examples of input and output...

A2 #CASChat One of the wonderful features of Tuesday evenings is being able to remind each other of the fantastic ideas that exist and being used by or recommended by others. Thank you again for sharing.

I have also found packet tracer a bit much. I have tended to use Filius #CASChat lernsoftware-filius.de/

Great one highlighting the key terms in the script of that to make sure kids are listening. Such a great video still! Wreck it Ralph 2: Ralph breaks the internet has some great sequences in that kids can relate to quite quickly

@CASinclude A1: one year I left some KS5 students define their own route they spent the next 30 minutes tweeting their journey around the local area. They absolutely smashed the assessment though! Knew packet and circuit switching through and through #TeacherFail #CASChat

A1 #CASChat Good evening @CASinclude @FranksbeckyHi and @catherinelliott Thank you so much for hosting and giving me a bit of a half-term vibe this evening. My favourite activity for teaching Computer Systems and Networks is Year 3 supervised scavenger hunt into the server room..
