To go with the live trumpets OR @IamJeridNowell and @JRothMusiq? 🤔 That is the question… 🤣
Something I wish I had heard and learned years ago, shared in this space for those who need to hear it: “This is not who you are. This is who your brain has convinced you that you are.” ❤️‍🩹# #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #mentalhealthmatters

When @IamJeridNowell got jokes 🤨 @Andre3000 would be proud 😆 #andre3000 #outkast
When we need bass we call upon a superhero, the Ace of Bass, @PFortunatoMusic. Note the stank face as he funks up our song ‘Jealousy’ in his natural habitat at @thePenthouseNYC. Just magical 🤌🏼🕺🏽 🎧 Canvas.band to listen 🎧

our jelly, the slim to our fast, the Topanga to our Cory if you will. We’d sit on the melody, and one day, transform it into a CANVAS song. So next time you hear one of our songs, the lyrics most likely started with “Because a hamster wheel don’t turn by itself” 😂

Recording vocals & instrumentation is a lot like acting. If you believe in what you're saying & playing, the listener will too. Confidence is audible. During the verses, I chose to remove my left hand from the equation in order to keep beat simple & spacious, but also to capture

that fast paced energy. Add studio magic (in this case overdubbing some 16th note rims on the up strokes in a big empty room) & now our drum track has that energy while being relatively simple + a sonic character & spaciousness unique to this song. God I love recording 🤠 - Jes
