Whatever Happened to Live and Let Live?
Freedom of speech is one of the fundamental rights in any democratic society. It gives us the liberty to express our thoughts, beliefs and opinions without fear of intimidation or hostility. But freedom of expression does not mean that everyone must agree with us. Neither does disagreement give us licence to insult, ridicule or attack those whose views differ from ours.
We must learn to distinguish between challenging an opinion and attacking the person who holds it. A healthy society must make room for robust debate, constructive criticism and different perspectives. That is how ideas are tested, conversations are enriched and societies progress.
Tolerance does not require agreement. We can disagree profoundly with someone’s views, beliefs or choices and still respect their right to hold and express them. At the same time, freedom of expression comes with a responsibility to exercise it with civility, restraint and an awareness of the impact our words can have on others.
We should be careful not to create a society in which people become afraid to speak simply because their views are unpopular or different from those of the majority. Democracy is strengthened, not weakened, when diverse voices can be heard.
We can disagree without being disagreeable. We can criticise without insulting. We can defend our convictions without denying others the same right to express theirs.
Freedom of speech must be protected. But so too must respect, tolerance and civility.
At the end of the day, you do not have to agree with me, and I do not have to agree with you. We simply have to respect each other’s right to hold and express our views.
Whatever happened to live and let live?

Dear Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and all NDC ministers and institutional heads: a simple piece of advice going forward.
In trying to be transparent with Ghanaians, you supplied raw, uncleaned, and unaudited reports and files to the NPP and media personnel looking for chances to hang you from day one.
That was a big mistake. Anyone who has followed your politics knows how much you value accountability and transparency, so you wanted to give the public everything.
In doing so, you handed people seeking to damage you the power to manipulate, distort, and analyze your data at face value. They seized on clerical errors, mismatches, and other common data issues such as duplicates, which often arise in data collection.
Going forward, never release any data unless it has been cleaned, validated, and audited through multiple processes. That will produce more transparent and valid data with few or no issues.
If you were corrupt, you would have had people enter all the data into a spreadsheet and balance everything so the public received clean data with zero or few issues.
To all NDC leaders: do not rush to please the Jandam-hungry opposition and their media people, who take money to push narratives in the name of speed and transparency.
Those of us who work with data know how a 1 or 0 can change a report’s interpretation. It also makes sense why the Roads Minister refused to supply the media with its contract data.
Clean up, straighten things, and do it with integrity, putting the nation first. Accountability matters and many of us seek it every day, so handle it with the precision it deserves.

Point of correction: “…anger of some Ghanaians”
“Anyone who attempts to remove Afenyo-Markin as Minority Leader will face the anger of Ghanaians.”
—Deputy Minority Leader, Hon. Patricia Appiagyei, has dismissed claims that secret meetings are being held to remove Hon. Afenyo-Markin as Minority Leader.
She praised his efforts in leading the caucus and acknowledged his work despite the Minority’s small numbers in Parliament.

A bunch of NPP stooges gathered to make noise. Okay.
Some Ghanaians in Ottawa, Canada have staged a “Yɛgye Yɛn Sika” protest, demanding answers over the cost of evacuating Ghanaian nationals from South Africa amid xenophobic attacks.
They have every right to demonstrate and demand accountability. No argument there. I trust @S_OkudzetoAblak to answer them.
Even he has not resigned for the nonsense he oversaw at ECG.
“Okudzeto Ablakwa was loud on the rooftop but today he cannot even account for some GH¢49 million in the evacuation of our compatriots from South Africa. “
—Minority Leader, Hon. Afenyo-Markin, has called for the resignation of Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, over alleged financial irregularities in the evacuation of Ghanaians from South Africa.

😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
The fact that you have to announce it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
NPP appoints the youngest National Executives in Ghana since 1957.
Indeed, the NPP is a party for the youth, and if you are a young man who wants to go far in politics, then the NPP is the easiest route.
Congratulations patriots on your well deserved appointments as deputy directors of Communication.

Every new chapter of life is a reminder of God’s grace, the gift of life, and the responsibility that comes with every opportunity to make a difference.
True fulfilment is found not in titles or positions, but in the lives we touch, the people we protect, and the positive impact we leave behind. Service to humanity, the pursuit of justice, and the protection of the vulnerable remain among life’s greatest responsibilities, and which I stand to uphold.
May the years ahead bring all of us greater wisdom, strength, good health, and renewed determination to serve humanity in every little way we can and contribute to a peaceful and secure Ghana.
God bless our homeland Ghana. 🇬🇭
Did you watch the news when the minister and DSTV reps made the announcement?
Have you not seen the date they made the announcement on their pages as well?
You make it easy to believe you are a clout chaser.

TOR Managing Director outlines the following expansion and work ahead.
In the near term, engineers from Verga Engineering are working with TOR’s technical team to complete the tie-in and commission the F-61 this month.
This will allow the Crude Distillation Unit to move from its current throughput of about 28,000bpsd to its nameplate capacity of 45,000bpsd to 55,000bpsd.
In the medium term, TOR plans to install a new air cooler to raise capacity to 60,000bpsd and replace the 6,500 barrel-a-day catalytic reformers with a 10,000 barrel-per-day continuous catalytic reformer.
The new 120-ton boiler has been installed, while work on the RFCC turnaround, and SCADA system continues.
On August 1, 2026, H.E. The President directed the Hon. Minister for Energy and Green Transition to work with the TOR Board and management on a strategic roadmap to raise processing capacity to 100,000 barrels a day with a further plan to increase it to 200,000 barrels per day end-state.
He also announced plans to restructure TOR so that it can operate on sound commercial principles, without undue political interference. The Ministry of Finance is currently working with TOR to consider writing off $120million of TOR’s legacy debt owed to the GoG or convert it into equity.
TOR is part of a national plan. With the refinery's expansion from 45,000 to 100,000 barrels a day, Government is targeting about 70 percent of national fuel demand from local refining.
