Stop blaming the ATM. I know most of you don’t care about the cash economy but I’m telling you if they successfully ban cash, and that’s the war we are in, then they’ve already got a digital dollar. No CBDC needed. Keep cash alive.

Excuse me @georgecursor but bitcoin ATM’s absolutely sell real bitcoin. Most of them require the BTC to be sent directly into a non custodial wallet. I’m sorry this woman was scammed but where’s the part that blames the FCC for allowing the phone calls in which she was led to the machine or the accountability for the bank who gave her 45k in cash? Or, I don’t know, the accountability for the scammer himself?

It took me longer to understand the dollar than Bitcoin. We wanted you to understand Bitcoin so you could hold it in self-custody. The FIC never wanted you to understand the dollar so you would keep it in their custody. Your dollars in the bank are their liability. Cash is the dollar in self-custody. Now watch how hard they work to get rid of cash and replace it with stablecoins & CBDCs.
