Discussions about sports issues, NIL, teaching sports journalism are part of this podcast I did with @ShannonScovel this summer. It's a lead up to the @AEJMC and @SportsAEJMC conference next month in New Orleans. If you're so inclined, give it a listen. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

Thank you to all of the sports media types who answered our survey. Up next: interviews! If you indicated on your survey that you'd be open for an interview, we have your info. We'd still love to talk with other sports media members on gambling even if you didn't take the survey.

It was incredibly cool to have @michaeleaves and @Realrclark25 speak to my journalism classes this morning. My fav quote of the day: “No extraordinary human had an ordinary schedule.” Thank you, gentlemen, for sharing your passion and advice with UK students. 💙💙

We're having a special visitor at the School of Journalism and Media tomorrow night. Marisa Kwiatkowski, director of Journalism at the Knight Foundation, will be presenting our 2026 Joe Creason Lecture in Journalism.

Kwiakowski was one of the reporters who helped expose wrongdoings by USA Gymnastics and bring down Dr. Larry Nassar.

I regularly use Kwiatkowski's reporting to teach students about the power of investigative journalism as well as the importance of giving voice to the voiceless. The event is free and open to the public. Come join us at the Student Center's Worsham Cinema at 5 p.m. tomorrow!

The stairs still haunt my nightmares but the rest of the renovated White Hall Classroom Building is AMAZING. Open spaces, little collaboration rooms, gorgeous classrooms and auditoriums. Still finishing touches happening but it was fun to take a little self-guided tour today.

Worlds colliding for me last week as one of our sports reporting students at the GameOn UK Workshop caught up with former UK and Marion County star Makayla Epps to discuss her new roles. Great work by Sterling Hohman and photographer Brooke Johnson. nam04.safelinks.protection.o…
