Schools are closed for #ElectionDay so I took my kids to a nature class with an adjacent coworking space & the new young teacher, looking mortified, just brought me my 2yo: "um... this is... this is some serious poop"
and if that doesn't sum up election day
... I am not sure I want to stay on Twitter but I am also not sure I could ever join a social media app where you share "toots"
... "Mastadon toots" sound especially heinous
Wow. I'm seeing the followers-decrease, the vitriol increase, and also I feel like 90% of my newsfeed is now Musk, and I don't even follow him... 🙄

Some folks love to rag on #NaNoWriMo these days, but it's been such a terrific kickstarter and entrypoint to novel-writing for so many writers - me, included. Don't yuck the yum, y'all.

Kid1's hamster died. We buried him this morning.
Kid2 had an allergic reaction, projectile vomited everywhere (fine now).
Black birds are circling our house (hopefully not to eat hamster corpse).

Mundane Halloween is back!
Japan does Halloween better than anyone, but best of all is the annual "mundane Halloween" contest sponsored by website @dailyportalz.
The point is to dress up as something super ordinary.

So much discussion about Broadway and I just want to take a moment to encourage people to attend small theatre. Plays by "unknown" and living playwrights. Be willing to discover a voice new to you. Be willing to be moved by something not in the zeitgeist. It matters. Thanks!
