the default solana program entrypoint function that’s on virtually every mainnet program uses up to 8000 cus when you give it 32 unique accounts — before a single line of business logic

It turns out we can do better – asset transfer using ~1k CU.
This is using a custom entrypoint (nitrate) based on @cavemanloverboy's solana-nostd-entrypoint plus a few tweaks. The savings in compute are correlated with the number of accounts that the instruction receives – more accounts, more savings.

Turns out there are some neat curve25519 syscalls coming soon! I made a quick little helper lib that verifies sigs without CPIs or precompiles. Still no sha512 so it's not crazy cheap yet. Costs 11k CUs plus an additional 8k CUs per 128 message bytes: crates.io/crates/solana_ed25…

Program deploys via RPC were infinitely faster than TPU for us... Spent the past 24 hours trying to deploy 5 programs via TPU. Got em all deployed via RPC in 10 minutes. It's a single line change in the cli to cause all sends to fallback to RPC. github.com/staratlasmeta/sol…
