“So now I try to speak for the young trans people of the future. I hope one day they’ll grow up in a world where they can have a normal, quiet life. I hope one day the government leaves them alone.”
It’s easy for the government to go after trans kids because trans kids won’t speak out on the internet- because that would ruin their lives and expose them to millions of obsessed Nazis
Most of their families just quietly moved instead, hoping to have a normal life elsewhere.
So I speak for them. My life was already ruined and I have nothing to lose. Politicized transphobia took everything from me- my family, my community, my dreams. You know me from Twitter as the raunchy trans girl who hates republicans, but I didn’t start that way. I wanted to build a house in Vilonia Arkansas next to my parents on our plot of land. I wanted a wife and kids who had my parents in their lives as grandparents. I wanted to always stay involved in my community and church. I volunteered to coach basketball for home schooled kids, which I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wanted a quiet life, I never wanted to be famous.
All of that went up in flames when I finally came out. I knew it wouldn’t be good but I hoped maybe…if I showed them the scientific research and how the Bible doesn’t actually condemn trans people…maybe they’d let me stay. But they would rather kill me.
So now I try to speak for the young trans people of the future. I hope one day they’ll grow up in a world where they can have a normal, quiet life. I hope one day the government leaves them alone.

Rep. Buzz Scherr speaks against a motion to suspend NH House rules to consider a resolution to impeach magistrate Stephanie Johnson. Evidently, facts still matter to some more than Rep. Mike Belcher’s distortions as the motion fails to reach the required 2/3 vote. #NHPolitics
Such a wonderful example of quality bipartisan cooperation.
"The improvements in this bill will ensure our law enforcement have the best technology, judicial infrastructure, + statutory authority to keep our NH communities safe.”

I got to sit down with Chairman @T_RoyNHStateRep and @nhpr last week to talk about the benefits of the new bail reform law passed this session, and how we worked together while coming from such different political viewpoints.

An example of what can be done when people talk to each other rather than yell at each other. A great bipartisan success! – at Portsmouth, NH
I am so pleased that this bipartisan bail reform package passed on voice vote today. After months of work in the House this bill is now off to the Senate - I will continue to advocate there for these necessary improvements to our criminal justice system. #NHPolitics
Actually, seems like low/no cash bail has worked out just fine as crime rate in NH has declined since low/no cah bail went into wffect. Facts matter – at Portsmouth, NH

Everybody gets upset my comments are off because they don’t understand how to respect personal boundaries.
If you want to harass me and call me a groomer and a t***** you can do that on your own page. My constituents know how to reach me and that’s what actually matters.

Despite boatloads of consequences outlined by @AlexisSimpsonNH that will ultimately harm kids, the NH House passes HB1205 by a 189-182 roll call vote. The bill would legalize discrimination against transgender kids who want to play school sports. #NHPolitics

Between being trans and the child of an immigrant, every single week I get to hear dehumanizing language spoken from my colleagues at the well. This body is mainly older, white folks for a reason - if you don’t fit in they make it clear you’re not wanted.

Homelessness is about housing. Manchester cannot arrest its way out of homelessness. It can invest in solving the housing crisis instead of investing in police and jails as a solution – at Portsmouth, NH
Closed up the bar I work at downtown and was devastated to see how many people were hunkered down trying to stay warm on our sidewalk. Below freezing, and with the constant Elm St winds it’ll be a rough night. No one deserves to live like this. #HousingFirst #HousingNow
