I am Canadian, I am a taxpayer, I am a voter. Mr. Carney, I am a Canadian fed up with you treating my money, my vote and my patience like things you're just entitled to. I get up, I go to work, and I pay my bills. When I can't afford something, I put it back. You should try that sometime with my money. You sold yourself as the man with the experience to handle Donald Trump. So do what you told Canadians you could do. Get back to the table and get us a deal that gives our workers, our businesses and our families a leg to stand on. Your résumé has had its introduction. We're waiting for the part where it helps us, because contrary to your belief, you didn't just "get here." A reporter once asked when you last spoke to the American president, and you flippantly said, "Who cares?" You called it a detail. You said you would speak to him again "when it matters." Well I CARE. And it already mattered. It mattered to the worker waiting to hear whether there would be another shift. It mattered to the business owner losing orders. It mattered to the parent putting groceries back. You acknowledged your words were a mistake. But correcting your wording doesn't correct anyone's bank balance. I am tired of you telling Canadians to keep our elbows up while we swirl the drain, struggling to keep our heads above water. You suspended trade negotiations and recalled your team on August 21. Counting that day and today, that's 56 days. You cited sovereignty and unacceptable terms. So then show us the details on how you're getting better ones. Show us the progress. Show us the timetable. Show us what Canadians can actually count on because waiting to see how America's November 3rd midterm election turns out is not a viable or even reasonable option. My bills have deadlines. Your promises need them too. And spare me another victory speech about diversifying trade. More customers would be welcome. But an invitation, a handshake and a potential market are not paid orders leaving the factory floor. Your own government's report says America bought 72% of our goods exports in 2025. The rest of the world COMBINED bought 28%. You know the difference. Stop talking as though a collection of future possibilities can immediately replace the customer paying most of the bills. And your interest in changing the global financial system didn't begin when you became prime minister. Back in 2019, you were discussing an alternative international currency system that could reduce the American dollar's global dominance. You are entitled to your economic theories. I am entitled to ask what pursuing them means for my country and my kitchen table. You campaigned on diversification. Fine. That does not excuse failing to deliver relief in the trading relationship Canadians still depend on. You don't get to mark your own homework by changing which promise we're supposed to judge. I am done with the gaslighting. I am done with you expecting me to mistake another Liberal government announcement for Liberal government accomplishment. And I am done watching your government applaud its announced efforts while I wait for something to reach my kitchen table. I can read a receipt. I can read a bill too. I can tell when a promise hasn't paid either one. But I have noticed how quickly your government can move when the benefit goes directly to YOU! You came out of the general election with a minority. That was the limit Canadians put on your power. You deliberately recruited floor crossers to help assemble the majority you didn't win in that election, in defiance of the democratic process Canadians exercised. You can call that a change of heart, however I am entitled to find it eerily suspicious. Especially since others have come forward describing the pressure tactics your party uses to recruit opposition members. Then your government changed committee membership to secure Liberal control while moving many in camera or sealing information rightfully belongingto tax payers. I am Canadian. And I expect you to respect the voters' judgment as much as you welcome an MP pretending to suddenly changing theirs. You found a way to strengthen your position. I expect that same determination when ours is weakening. I am tired of watching you acquire more power while being told I should expect less. Less certainty, less purchasing power but expected to have more patience, and sacrifice even more than I have already. I am done being lectured about sacrifice by people insulated from the consequences of their own decisions. You make the announcement, but it's the Canadian people making the adjustments. We postpone repairs. We stretch groceries. We wonder what else we can cut as our stomachs rumble. You call it a transition after a rupture. From my kitchen table, it looks like poorly calculated managed decline on the heels of a deliberate rupture orchestrated by you and you alone. And I flat out, vehemently refuse to have you sell it back to me as something I asked for when nobody did. I am tired of you using Donald Trump as a cudgel to beat Canadians into accepting whatever you propose. His conduct does not make your decisions beyond criticism. His tariffs do not erase your promises. And disliking him does not obligate me to trust you. I am Canadian. My loyalty is to this country. You have to earn my confidence through what you deliver. My taxes are not applause, my vote is not unconditional consent, and my patriotism is not yours to manipulate. I WILL question you. I WILL challenge you. I WILL organize with my fellow countrymen, speak out and demand answers. And, so help me God, I WILL keep standing up for myself and my country until my dying breath. You can try to stop me, but I will defy you. My name is Melanie. I am a Canadian living in Saskatchewan, and YOU - Mark Carney - work for me. START ACTING LIKE IT! #MakeHypocrisyShamefulAgain #StopElectingIncompetence #cdnpoli #Think

The Canadian auto industry is calling for the Liberals’ Chinese EV deal to be “eliminated,” warning that Canada is handing over 30% of the EV market to a bad actor without guardrails. 600,000 jobs and billions in GDP depend on the auto sector. It is unwise to turn our backs on them to placate China.

Our Government & education system have sadly indoctrinated these individuals to believe that a pipeline is the end of the world as we know it. They have been fed nonstop “climate” rhetoric that has them living in fear. Who actually believes a new pipeline will never be built in our Country?

THE CULT OF THE RED LAWN SIGN 🤔If ethics matter, why do they stop mattering the moment a Liberal gets caught? I've spent the last little while reading through the public findings of Canada's Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner since 2016. I know. Riveting stuff. The kind of thing normal people do when they're not busy enjoying hobbies or maintaining healthy social lives. What I found was a trail of ethics violations, conflict-of-interest findings, disclosure breaches, recusal failures, and contraventions involving Liberal MPs, cabinet ministers, and even the Prime Minister himself since Justin Trudeau first took office. Not allegations. Not rumours. Not conspiracy theories scribbled on the back of a Tim Hortons napkin. Official findings. Public record. And yet every election, like clockwork, millions of Canadians solemnly inform us that Conservatives are the unethical ones. At this point, I'm less interested in the politicians than I am in the voters. Because eventually you have to stop blaming the dog for getting on the couch when the owner keeps lifting him up there. If ethics matter, why do ethics findings never seem to matter? If integrity matters, why does integrity suddenly become a complicated philosophical debate every time the person in question has a red lawn sign? If character matters, why is character always somebody else's problem? The pattern is almost comforting now! A Conservative gets accused of something and we're told it reveals their true nature. A Liberal gets caught doing something and we're immediately handed a twelve-part documentary explaining why context is important, nobody's perfect, everybody makes mistakes, and have we considered Stephen Harper? It's like watching a smoke detector argue that the fire is actually a nuanced heating event and how dare you call it anything else. If you do, then you hate Canada. 🤦🏼‍♀️ The truly remarkable part isn't that politicians keep getting caught. Politicians are politicians. Nobody should be falling off their chair in shock. The remarkable part is watching people continue to vote for individuals with documented ethics findings while insisting they occupy the moral high ground. That takes real commitment. The kind of commitment usually reserved for flat-earthers and people who still think the self-checkout is making their lives easier. So here's my question... ⁉️ Do Liberal voters not know? ⁉️ Do they know and not care? ⁉️ Or have we reached the point where ethics are no longer principles at all, but merely sticks used to hit political opponents? Because from where I'm sitting at a kitchen table in rural Saskatchewan, trying to make sense of a country that increasingly feels upside down, it looks an awful lot like partisan loyalty has replaced standards. And once that happens, ethics stop being ethics. They become team colours.🤨 Melanie #cdnpoli #Ethics Source: Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner Investigation Reports ciec-ccie.parl.gc.ca/en/inve… open.substack.com/pub/melani…

It seems that Michael Ma designed his rapid fire questions at me so they could be used by Chinese state media showing that he went up against a critic of the regime. That’s what Chinese state media is reporting. It failed spectacularly here, but state media won’t report that.

There is a scene in Titanic where Molly Brown, played by Kathy Bates, casually explains the chill between old money and new money. Same dining room. Same crystal. Different bloodlines. The old guard does not hate wealth. It hates arrival. I just happened to watch it again, and I can't help but think about Pierre Poilievre. Not because he is a movie character. Because the reaction to him feels theatrical in the same way. I am not a blind partisan. I am a skeptical voter. I have voted based on policy, temperament, and performance. But I am exhausted with the assumption that one party, particularly the Liberal establishment, considers itself the natural governing order of Canada. As if leadership is something etched into Laurentian granite and everyone else is a temporary inconvenience. And people like me? We are treated as if we wandered in from the service entrance. That tone is not imagined. It is cultural. It shows up in commentary panels, in Ottawa cocktail chatter, in the quiet sneer that suggests conservatives are unsophisticated, unserious, or morally suspect for disagreeing. Now insert Poilievre into that ballroom. Degree in international relations. Command of data. Rapid recall in debate. Years of grinding committee work. A career built the slow way, not inherited through family lineage or political aristocracy. Whatever one thinks of his ideology, the man has put in the work. And that is what unsettles them. Like Molly Brown, he understands the rules of the room. He just did not grow up in it. He did not inherit the assumption that he belongs at the head of the table. He claimed his seat through competence and stamina. There is something almost comical about how irritated the establishment becomes when someone from outside their cultural orbit proves sharp, disciplined, and effective. It disrupts the comforting belief that the right to lead flows naturally from the right surname, the right social circle, the right network. As a conservative voter, I will admit something with a grin. I take a certain delight in that discomfort. Not because I hate anyone. Not because I want chaos. But because it is healthy for power to feel pressure. It is healthy for elite circles to be reminded that leadership in Canada is not hereditary. It is chosen. When the Laurentian set bristles at him, it feels less like policy disagreement and more like social offence. As if the real transgression is that someone without their pedigree mastered their game. From where I sit in Saskatchewan, that irony is rich. Many of us were not born into influence. We built our lives the long way. We respect effort. We respect preparation. We respect someone who can defend their case without hiding behind inherited prestige. Old money dislikes being reminded that the ladder still works. And perhaps that is why the tension feels so sharp. Not because he is new money in a literal sense. But because he represents something the old guard would rather forget. The door is not theirs alone. And some of us rather enjoy watching it swing open.

I Am a Conservative Canadian. And I’m Done Being Ruled by the Laurentian Elite Who Broke the Country: The Laurentian Class Broke Canada and Still Thinks It’s Our Fault! I am a Conservative Canadian. Not the cartoon the pundits like to sketch on television. Not the villain in the tidy little morality play performed every night in Ottawa studios. Just a citizen who works, pays taxes, and has reached the point where the lectures from the people running this country have become unbearable. Because here is the truth no one in Ottawa seems willing to say out loud. Canada is not failing because Canadians are selfish, backward, or resistant to progress. Canada is struggling because the people in charge have confused moral theatre with competence. I am a Conservative Canadian. I believe a country should produce things. Energy. Food. Opportunity. Not just announcements. I believe budgets should eventually balance because debt is not compassion. Debt is simply a bill we hand to our children and pretend we did them a favour. I believe the truck driver hauling freight across the Prairies contributes more to Canada in a single winter storm than a room full of policy advisors drafting their seventh strategy document about him. I am a Conservative Canadian. Which means I believe the people who actually build the country deserve a government that respects them. And that is where the “anger” comes from. Because the class that governs Canada today does not respect those people. They manage them. The Laurentian elite speaks endlessly about the working class while living comfortably in a world completely insulated from it. They host conferences about sacrifice. They publish essays about equity. And then they bill the taxpayer for lunch. I am a Conservative Canadian. And I am tired of watching a political class lecture the country about responsibility while demonstrating none of it themselves. They tell Canadians we must accept higher energy costs in the name of the planet while sitting in a country blessed with enough resources to power half the world. They tell families struggling with grocery bills that the real problem is their consumption habits. They tell us housing is unaffordable because the issue is complicated. Everything is always complicated. Everything except the part where ordinary Canadians are expected to quietly absorb the consequences. I am a Conservative Canadian. Which means I have very little patience left for hypocrisy. The same people who lecture the country about sacrifice never seem to sacrifice anything themselves. They fly to climate summits to explain austerity to people who cannot afford their heating bills. They expand government year after year while telling Canadians to tighten their belts. They preside over failure and then congratulate themselves for managing it. And when Canadians finally push back, we are told the real problem is our attitude. That we are angry. That we are misinformed. That we simply do not understand the brilliance of the plan. I am a Conservative Canadian. And I understand it perfectly. What I do not accept anymore is the arrogance behind it. Because this country does not belong to the people who dominate the panel discussions on television. It belongs to the people who wake up before dawn to keep the lights on. The farmers who feed us. The tradesmen who build for us. The truckers who haul for us. The small business owners who take risks for us while Ottawa writes rules. I am a Conservative Canadian. Which means I believe the purpose of government is actually quite simple. Protect the country. Maintain order. Create conditions where people can thrive and build their own prosperity. That is it. Government is not supposed to micromanage the economy, redesign society, or lecture citizens about how enlightened it is. And it certainly is not supposed to behave like a permanent ruling class that believes its authority comes from virtue rather than results. I am a Conservative Canadian. And I believe Canada deserves better than this slow drift into managed decline. It deserves leadership that actually believes in the people who built it. I am a Conservative Canadian. And I am finished pretending that the people running this country know better than the citizens who keep it alive. Enough. - Melanie in Saskatchewan 👇 buymeacoffee.com/melanieinsa… 👇 open.substack.com/pub/melani…

Catherine Swift just dropped a piece that should make taxpayers pause.⏯️ Canada now has no Parliamentary Budget Officer.🚨 The fiscal watchdog who warned Ottawa its spending was unsustainable is gone. 🪑The position meant to scrutinize federal budgets is simply… vacant. xitter.cf/TRobinsonNewEra/… Just over a month after Jews were massacred on Bondi Beach by Islamists, not a single family member of the Muslim terrorists was deported, banned, or held accountable. Not one. But Australia banned Jewish speaker Sammy Yahood. Not for violence. Not for threats. Not for crimes. For damaging the fake image of Islam as a “religion of peace,” and for saying the obvious: that murder and rape in the name of “jihad” are never justified, even when perpetrators claim victimhood and follow Islamic scripture to the letter. Let that sink in. Mass murder gets excuses. Speaking out gets punished. This is not justice. This is cowardice dressed up as morality. Absolutely cowardly politicians.

This country’s an absolute embarrassment 🤦🏻‍♂️
Murray Brewster, CBC defence writer, is asked "Is there ever a conversation about whether, if this carries on, if Canada could be asked to contribute in some fashion?" Brewster "Well, it would be very difficult, I think at the moment for Canada to contribute beyond what it's doing, mostly because of the personnel shortage." "...only 42% of the air Force at the moment is serviceable or ready." "...And the CF18s themselves are old and they might not be able to, they might not be suitable for, for going up against Iran's air defense system." "As I was saying earlier, most of the army is engaged in Latvia at the moment." "Canada has only one frigate that is attached to a NATO task force right now." So a long way of saying 'little, if anything' @Murray_Brewster
