Dear Ms. Hodžić, I would like to draw your attention to a very important inaccuracy you presented here. Namely, as written in your father’s book—and as you yourself stated—that this happened in 1994, this is not true, because in your father’s original diary it says that his conversation with General Mustafa Hajruhlahović took place on April 5th, 1995. This was also confirmed by your father in his interview with Avdo Avdić on November 16th, 2025. Although he became confused about the dates and generally appeared quite uncertain in his statements during the interview—which Avdić himself noticed but did not address. I am pointing this out because the biggest issue surrounding the “Sarajevo Safari” story is the chronology, since the testimony of Edin Subašić, a former intelligence officer of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, does not match the timeline of your father’s account. Subašić states that he received the task at the end of 1993, and that when he asked, “Is there an answer?”, Mustafa Hajruhlahović replied in March or April 1994 that an answer had arrived. It is even more interesting that your father placed the safari story on page 179 of his book after the signing of the Washington Agreement, which took place on March 18th, 1994. The question is—why? In his diary, your father notes that it was the 3rd anniversary of the formation of Vikić’s unit that day, which is correct, since the unit was formed in 1992. He also states that Hajruhlahović told him he had raised the matter to the level of the Italian government, but he does not mention that he conveyed any results. Meanwhile, in the interview he gave to N1, he says that this happened five days after the article in Oslobođenje, and that he reacted quickly after that article, that he had been in Italy, and that he had good connections there… which means that the response from SISMI, the Italian security service, about the team they allegedly neutralized in Trieste—if such a response ever came—could only have arrived in April 1995 or later, not in April 1994 as Subašić, one of the main witnesses in the film, claims. A particular problem is that main protagonist of the story in #Italy Ezzio Gavazeni states that Subašić personally contacted the Italian intelligence service SISMI in 1993, while Subašić himself claims that it was Mustafa Hajruhlahović who did this. Thus, in the construction of the story there is a serious gap in the chronology, and the discrepancy is a full year—not a matter of a few days. There are many other inconsistencies as well, which I will not discuss now. Please do not take this the wrong way, but I believe that your tweet and the photographs you posted from your father’s book are not accurate. I wish you all the best.
