Four sources identify Elon Musk as personally proposing Starshield restrictions to Trump, while three officials trace the order to the White House. Ukraine received no warning. Its interceptor drones were disrupted as Russia launched hundreds of drones and dozens of ballistic missiles. Whether this was deliberate sabotage remains unresolved.

Alex Gibney: “There was an estimate that what [Elon Musk] did by suddenly cutting USAID would cost through disease and starvation as many as 14M lives. Even if you discount that, we know within a year of those cuts where they were literally burning food going to starving children, 500K children died. This is really a crime against humanity, but he makes a joke about it, I put USAID into the woodchipper. What he put into the woodchipper were children”

This transcript is a laboratory for psychopathologies and cognitive decline. Trump has reduced everything to a persecution story.
Anything entering his perception that contradicts his alternate reality is just evidence of a conspiracy against him. This pattern is repeated dozens of times. It’s not Trump being Trump; it is actual psychosis.
Paranoia is a key ingredient of malignant narcissism and it increases in people with dementia. Trump has lost any ability to take in information, process it normally, and respond. His brain’s salience network no longer functions. He can no longer tell what matters—even to himself.
He cannot form chains of thought and rational judgements because he no longer lives in the objective world. Every probe from reality is just a personal attack on his dominance. Every critic is a traitor.
He has collapsed into his own ego and he has nowhere left to run. All he has left is to destroy the world—so it can’t bother him anymore.
“Psychosis is a state of absolute narcissism, one in which the person has broken all connection with reality outside.”
— Erich Fromm, The Heart of Man, 1964

Trump’s billionaire allies own Fox News, CBS, WaPo, WSJ, Politico and NY Post — plus 185+ local tv stations and news in 100 markets.
They own X, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, Truth, YouTube and Twitch.
They control the AI you're asking for answers, the algorithms feeding you content, your personal data you've given up for access, and the devices you rely on.
The news and your privacy are now what the right-wing say it is, and pretending that the media is “left-wing,” is just the lie the Right tells to seed doubt about the things which get reported objectively.

Replying to @DanLamothe @washingtonpost
Hello Mr. Lamothe,
Four generals' analysis is not the important point here. The article says that the information comes from Aug. 14 Secretary of Defense Orders Book (SDOB).
As that article explains, the SDOB is classified and lays out the worldwide availability of warships, aircrafts, weapons systems, personnel, along with assessments from senior commanders. That includes which leaders "non-concurred" which you are amplifying.
This is one of the most serious leaks I have ever seen, and you are using this to score partisan points against Hegseth.
You and your miltwitter journalist sphere spent a whole week hammering a DOGE-affiliated analyst for refusing to leak sensitive documents, accusing her of violating "ethics."
Perhaps the ethics were just arbitrary conveniences all along. Perhaps the professional code exists to protect the true raison d'etre that you and the rest of legacy Pentagon press corps exist by:
By your twisted morality, it's fine to handle materials that might very well undermine an active war and publish whatever you'd like from them in order to score political points against Pete Hegseth. Just as long as you "disclose," that makes it fine for WaPo to protect traitors running in our midst.
And in your personal case, "disclosing" apparently doesn't extend to fellowships at CNAS and other engagement heavily funded by the military-industrial complex.
The United States is engaged in active combat operations. WaPo holds material that may very well undermine the safety of Americans in harms way. WaPo took routine discussion of a serious internal force-allocation problem, and elevated that into cheap partisan shots.
The one without ethics here is the entire staff of the Washington Post who did not immediately turn in this traitor as soon as they received the material.

Deep State MAGSat Jennica Pounds’ viral collapse over "classified" documents is just the latest in a long history of her sensationalized claims falling completely flat under basic scrutiny. Throughout her time online as DataRepublican, her supposed "revelations" about multi-billion-dollar government waste have repeatedly amounted to nothing more than public data repackaged as a deep-state conspiracy.
The core of Pounds’ online fame relied on a "groundbreaking" AI-driven database she built to map government spending. However, tech investigators and data analysts quickly debunked the site's premise. The database did not uncover any hidden data; instead, it simply scraped public information from USAspending.gov—a transparent, completely legal federal tracking website that has been openly accessible to any American citizen since 2006. Pounds simply framed ordinary, decades-old federal grants to universities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as a massive, newly discovered network of corruption.
When her data wasn't just old news, it was frequently flat-out wrong. During her highly publicized push to support the dismantling of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Pounds and her followers pushed a viral claim that USAID had been making secret payments to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Fact-checkers quickly dismantled the rumor, proving that Pounds' database had pulled a completely different individual who just happened to share the same name. Furthermore, the money didn't even come from the government; it was a private transaction from a non-profit healthcare provider.
Similarly, she frequently used her platform to launch wild, unsubstantiated attacks against political figures. She aggressively targeted conservative commentator Bill Kristol, publicly branding him a "Deep State agent" based on shaky data assertions that his non-profit was a beneficiary of federal funding. Time and again, her pattern remained identical: take ordinary public records, look past basic facts, and spin them into viral, debunked conspiracies.
