Yall. I know I’m supposed to have a side in all of this. But I guess I’m just on the side of normal people. Am I alone in feeling like I’m just kind of done with all the politicians? Where were all yall a week ago? What are you actually going to DO about all of this? Enough words.
Not only did @NESpower cut spending on tree trimming - the company was also fully aware of the risks this posed. Tennesseans deserve better than this failure and negligence.

Today’s agenda for @NESpower: hire a full-time Communications Officer with experience in crisis management.
Also, read the room here, let’s phrase this differently.
After a major storm like this, it’s important to know where our role ends and yours begins. NES maintains and repairs the lines leading to your house, but homeowners are responsible for the equipment on the house.
If your weatherhead, power mast or meter base are damaged, our crews cannot safely reconnect your power. You will need to contact an electrician licensed and registered by your county.
Get your equipment repairs scheduled as soon as possible so you can have power as soon as NES electrical service is restored.
Anecdotally, this is the 3rd time in 18 months that very large trees on an easement at my 94 year old father’s house (trees NOT on his property) have fallen taking out lines and poles. Trees were marked by @NESpower to “watch” years ago, called last year with no response.
