/I don't play Splatoon so maybe I can't talk but looking at these amiibo... So it feels like people say marina is femme because she has boobs and eyelashes and pearl is masc because she has no eyelashes and a flat chest. That speaks volumes about body types being seen as 'ugly'

also, gold is associated with masculinity, and is also pearlโ€™s associated metal. I think pearl is openly a very fem person, but doesnt let her โ€œmascโ€ features define her. In side order, she wears a dress made of solid gold. Marina, seen as the more โ€œfeminineโ€ member, wears a suit
