The charity SSAFA has an agreement, a promise to house these brave individuals when they sought help from the council. Yet, here we are - with veterans, our heroes, reduced to living conditions worse than some would treat stray dogs. The council was handed £35,000 to ensure veterans had roofs over their heads, not just for warmth but as a thank you for their service. Where has that money gone? Into bureaucracy? Into the pockets of those who don't understand sacrifice? While we house thousands of illegal migrants in hotels, our own, who fought for our freedoms, are left to fend for themselves.
