My feature, Jameela at the Bat, and my pilot, Kulfi Empire, made the Quarterfinals! They didn't proceed further but looks like there was a lot of competition so happy to make the list!
We're excited to announce the Quarterfinalists, Semifinalists, and Finalists for the 2022 Vail Screenplay Competition! Winners to be announced on Nov. 30th!.

Set something up for November 1 without realizing that’s it’s in one week. Uh, what happened to October?!
Finished up The Midnight Club on Netflix which made me feel incredibly nostalgic. I had forgotten how I had devoured Christopher Pike books when I was younger! Those books served as a stepping stone to Dean Koontz and then Stephen King for me. So cool to see these stories adapted
I could totally go for a Hawkman/Dr. Fate prequel buddy movie after watching #BlackAdamMovie. With Aldis Hodge and Pierce Brosnan of course! I want to see more of those two as these characters!

Had fun with this one. The Rock is The Rock, and you’re either down with that or you’re not. (I am.) But man, seeing the JSA join this universe is amazing. Aldis Hodge is perfect as Carter Hall/Hawkman, and Pierce Brosnan’s Dr. Fate is the movie’s heart and soul. #BlackAdam – at Newark, CA
Had the pleasure of catching a screening of this here in LA - definitely check this out tonight on PBS!
TONIGHT on @POVdocs: A diverse range of Muslim Americans recounts the past 30 years of pivotal moments in U.S. history and policy from their own perspectives. Don’t miss @anactofworship at 10pm on @PBS. #ActOfWorshipFilmPBS loom.ly/_80sKjc
There's *so* much new stuff to watch on the streaming platforms but please excuse me as I watch We Are Lady Parts again.

The situation in Pakistan, following the floods, is worsening.
The death toll from the floods sits at 1700 (600 kids). Water/vector-borne diseases are spreading & a food crisis is impacting millions.
In Aug, UN made a flood relief appeal for $160M. Now it says PK needs $816M.

Drinking coffee as a beverage is said to have originated in Yemen in the 15th century in Sufi Shrines. It was there that coffee berries were first roasted & brewed in a way similar to how the drink is prepared today
For #InternationalCoffeeDay a thread on coffee & Muslim culture
I had to use up some condensed milk so I made a tres leches cake but to make the cake I had to buy other things, including a 9 x 9 pan which apparently isn't as prevalent in stores as an 8 x 8 or a 9 in round pan (I have both). So, yeah, went on an adventure today.
Early seasons are definitely comfort viewing for me! (Although the siblings and I weren’t allowed to watch The Simpsons initially…)
#OnThisDay #OTD September 19, 1994, #TheSimpsons began airing in syndication. Local Fox stations aired repeats 5 days a week, up to 3 times a day, aiding in every Simpsons nerd's ability to commit entire classic episodes to memory for the rest of their lives.
Loved Rogue One and this character, can’t wait for #Andor !
The weather was finally cool enough to wear a hoodie tonight and it was glorious. #LA
The American Born Chinese graphic novel has been on list forever- gotta read it before this comes out.
Your first look into American Born Chinese, the adaptation of @geneluenyang’s award-winning graphic novel. Coming soon to @DisneyPlus!
Waited until now to watch the latest #StarTrekLowerDecks as a “Saturday morning cartoon”and I love that this show exists - who knew we needed an animated Star Trek where the main characters aren’t bridge officers? And we’re already in season 3?! I hope this goes on for a while
