Why many opening a junior ISA should consider investing not saving. On a @thismorning phone in where a grandma asked Martin 'wheres the best place to save for my new grandchild for when they're all older'. After explaining the savings options Martin suggests perhaps investing is the better option.  A junior ISA is a tax-free savings or investment account that can be open for under 18s which you can put up to £9,000 pounds per tax year in.

This is what they want, if you paid for Health Insurance like the USA the cost would be £800bn a year. The current cost is £200bn. So that is £600bn a year profit for the billionaires and their puppet politicians.
Kwasi Kwarteng: Private insurance will have to play a part in the future of the NHS This was always the goal. The Tories deliberately broke up the NHS (internal market/outsourcing) & understaffed & underfunded services for years in order to make it fail & bring us to this point

It rained.... And as predicted on @LBC with @HenryRiley1 not 48 hours ago. Anything in brown is sewage being dumping into the environment right now, in real time, anything in red is sewage dumped over the last 24 hours.

Why did the CIA director fly to Moscow? “There’s always a reason for a visit like this,” says the Russian government paper. But what is it? Different versions in today’s Russian papers. Plus, an editorial with a message…for Europe? #ReadingRussia

It's obvious to me Trump works for Putin. He's had a treasonous relationship with Russia since 1987. Putin i immensely evil, but in 18th century terms he is admirable. If you agree any number of deaths is acceptable to build a great empire, which in 1750 many would, then until he cocked up in Ukraine he was doing great. Putin is an archetypal bond villain that I'd be fascinated to meet. By contrast Trump is a malign narcissist - a deeply stupid and tasteless man who was left a vast fortune which he lost and had to be propped up by a hostile foreign power that made him president by leveraging stupidity, resentment and spite. He appears to be destroying his country (I am not American) from within, and grifting much like one of Putin's oligarchs but on an even larger scale. I'd be as interested in meeting the contents of the diaper as the man. It was always predictable Trump would try to feed Ukraine to Putin.

The great thing about having Mark Carney as a leader is his decades of understanding economics within a geopolitical framework. He understands, unlike Wun Dum Fuc, that the US extortion strategy is ultimately self-defeating and that while threats make headlines, pragmatic acceptance of the need to adapt is the key that opens doors for Canadian prosperity. Carney has embraced the need for Canada to extend its economic horizons and work towards deeper more resilient and reliable partnerships across the world. He understands the threat American reliance presents and is turning threat to opportunity by looking beyond the unreliable. 🎥 TikTok - vm.tiktok.com/ZN8LMubBD/

I make no secret of the fact that I found Anne Widdecombe’s views abhorrent, nor will I deny that I believe Reform UK incites division and hostility. But did she deserve to have every woman’s worst nightmare happen to her? No. She did not. The key takeaway is this: you don’t stop male violence by encouraging more hatred and division. Once you normalise that, society itself begins to unravel. There was already an epidemic of male violence long before politicians started fanning the flames for political gain. The leaders of Reform and Restore create unease and unrest because they profit from it. They point fingers. They deflect. They exploit despair and anger. Time and again, they have manipulated some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people in Britain. In doing so, they have contributed to an environment in which women, gay people, trans people and people of colour face greater hostility and, potentially, greater risk of violence. Does that mean I think Anne Widdecombe was to blame for what happened to her? Again, no. No woman deserves to be brutally murdered by a man. It is one of the oldest, deepest fears carried by women, and tragically, it is not an irrational one. I’ve received unspeakable threats despite not being a politician, simply for talking about politics. The police do nothing. The police are yet another institution women are forced to fear. Women are not safe anywhere, not even in our own home. I’ve lived alone. I know how vulnerable you can feel, simply because you’ve dared to have a voice as a woman. I’ve lain awake in bed wondering whether the noise downstairs was a man, radicalised by social media, fuelled by misogyny, entitlement and rage, finally acting on one of those threats. Anne would have likely done that countless times. The price women pay simply for existing is fear, the price they pay for having a voice or agency is even higher. While I found many of Anne’s views, particularly those regarding other women, abhorrent, that does not mean she asked for this. Men who inflict horrific violence on women rarely need an excuse. The fact that they can is often reason enough. Male violence is not limited to one culture, a political viewpoint, a particular religion or one race. It is endemic. No woman should have to die to prove this point but many more will unless action is taken. Do I think Reform and Restore should be defenestrated? Absolutely. But at the ballot box. Because we’re not fucking animals. And because the working class should have more respect for itself than to let a handful of old Etonian pricks decide who we are. The best revenge is to recognise who your real enemies are, then quietly leave them to their riches, their private jets and their mansions. The more irrelevant they become and the less divided we are, the less power they hold and the less money they make. Two things are true: No woman deserves what Anne Widdecombe endured. The likelihood of women enduring male violence has markedly increased because of the hateful, violent and divisive rhetoric of figures like Farage or Lowe. Reject them. They’re not on your side.

The ECHR is your bog standard right to a life without government interference. Your rights, your freedoms and your entitlement to family life. Do you really want to throw it away because these multi millionaires tell you you'll be better off? Didn't they say same about Brexit?
"The working class has had it too good for too long. Leaving the ECHR will allow us to prioritise bosses over their workers."

By the way did I mention that Mandelson's company Global Counsel lobbies govt on behalf of the water industry. Think about it, WCs using bill payers money to pay Mandelson to lobby govt acting not in customers best interests but purely and solely the interest of shareholders. I'll just leave that thought there shall I.
