A refusal to tolerate wolves, lynx and even beavers in our landscapes is sort of understandable, if blindly wrong. But *moles*? Tiny harmless moles in their velvet suits whose tunnelling is essential in aerating the ground? Truth is, there are a lot of ‘custodians’ who’d really rather there were no wild creatures at all in the land. And they’re doing quite a good job of ensuring that there aren’t.

Dear @michaelgove 1 year ago my petition reached the 100k signature target. The public, scientists, politicians led by @ZacGoldsmith urge you to act. A swift brick requirement to Building Regs is drafted, ready. The housebuilders have no objections. We've done all you asked. So?

EIGHTEEN MONTHS into my campaign. The proposal to add a swift brick requirement to Building Regulations is ready, approved & recommended by ALL experts. Without swift bricks there’s no guaranteed nesting habitat for swifts&there never will be. The govt CAN give them a future. ⏳

'we are in a situation today where one man’s actions or inaction could well determine the fate of one of our most iconic species.' - Zac Goldsmith
(talking about Michael Gove, swift bricks and swifts)
Govt is taking far too long to approve this simple measure. It should be so straightforward I cannot understand why @michaelgove won’t take a decision. Almost everyone (incl even house builders) supports it.
Whatever the reason, we are in a situation today where one man’s actions or inaction could well determine the fate of one of our most iconic species.
If you too want the govt to do the right thing for once, please write to Michael Gove and your local MP. Pressure can & does work 🤞

We are still waiting. Now it's SEVENTEEN months @michaelgove which means our proposal is 17 months more urgent. The swifts will be on their way back home soon and without swift bricks there's no guaranteed nesting habitat anywhere in the UK and there never will be.
15 months ago #TheFeatherSpeech began. In July the bird’s acecard @ZacGoldsmith committed to securing our collective goal to save swifts. On Monday we have our 2nd govt meeting to ask for swift bricks to be added to Building Regs. Only their existence is at stake. No pressure 🤞

This week we laid out a memorial to the more than 11,500 Palestinian children and 36 Israeli children who’ve been killed since October 7th. It was a line 5km long of children’s clothes. Huge thanks to the volunteers who came to Bournemouth and made this happen #CeasefireNow
