If the subject of the £5m donation scandal was a member of the Cabinet, a senior SNP, Plaid or Green politician, he or she would be getting doorstepped an monstered everywhere they went. The double standards are sickening

The problem with AI isn’t marketing. It’s the product. Built by burning down our global cultural output & reshaping the ashes into a ghoulish simulacrum of creative expression. We must reject the strip-mining of our souls. The kids know this is impoverishment, not liberation.

The government is being advised to adopt AI by people who get rich from AI.
We need a transparent record of government AI advisers’ stakes in AI companies.

Sir James Bevan spent 8 years at the Environment Agency and oversaw the decimation not only of the agency but every river in the country.
He's recently reappeared again on the boards of Welsh Water and the Canal and Rivers Trust. The man is not fit to handle this week's shopping list never mind run an organisation especially a water company.
Is it right that Sir James Bevan is now a trustee of the Canal and Rivers Trust after his inability to tackle England’s sewage pollution crisis while running the Environment Agency?

Really important article in TIME this week: The People vs. AI.
The backlash to the irresponsible and exploitative promotion of AI at all costs is growing.
“Politicians who choose to do the bidding of Big Tech at the expense of hardworking Americans will pay a huge political price”.
The same is true in countries around the world.

The record breaking donation to Farage party underlines once more that while he parades as a man of the people he is in fact a means to an end for the very wealthy who want to be above democracy, free of tax, regulation or accountability. For sure they will be able to buy a lot of fake news and industrial scale BS with nine million. Perhaps this will be the wake up call the media needs to do some proper scrutiny
