Being chain-agnostic from day one is a competitive disadvantage...
You inherit every network's complexity before earning any network's distribution.
Every liquidity mining dashboard should have an extra column:
"How much liquidity remains 30 days after rewards stop?"
Paying capital to visit is easy.
Convincing it to stay is PMF and aligned incentives.
Building relationships across counties and timezones teaches you to not confuse enthusiasm with commitment.
A great meeting can mean different things in different markets.
Pay much more attention to what happens the week after.
A startup raising more capital isn't necessarily becoming more valuable.
Sometimes funding buys the time needed to discover a business.
...Other times, it lets a company postpone difficult decisions for another 12 to 18 months...
Building from the UAE creates an interesting rhythm:
Asia is already working when you wake up.
Europe joins in a couple hours.
The US comes online through the afternoon.
You can spend an entire day being available to everyone.
The only challenge is protecting enough uninterrupted time to actually build..

Thanks Tim, we have managed to continue building, though it's been very tough. Web3 funds don't seem to want to invest in Hedera projects, and neither do Hashgraph VC (🤭). We now have traditional web2 VCs wanting to invest, so maybe it was meant to be!
But certainly, we would probably be much much further ahead, and maybe have 4 or 5 x 4DSKY style projects on mainnet, if we had managed to secure investment earlier. I'm not sure what we did wrong? There was a lot of money being invested, but it's not clear where it all went.
I think it would be a positive step for Hedera if all funding that has been awarded/ distributed to be put on the HGraph. No accusations or negativity. But just as a positive step for transparency. We cannot change the past, but we can learn from it for the future.

Use open source part or GTM, it shouldn't weaken your startup's moat!
If your advantage disappears when someone can read your code, it probably wasn't much of an advantage.
Distribution, proprietary operational knowledge, integrations and execution quality are considerably harder to fork
