Key points:
⭕️ Central gold clearing system (currently in pilot) launches formally in Q1 2027. It supports true DVP — physical delivery + cash settlement linked to RTGS — something London doesn’t currently offer in the same integrated way.
⭕️ Direct “Delivery Connect” collaboration with the Shanghai Gold Exchange, with settlement facilities for both markets based in Hong Kong.
⭕️ RMB gold futures details to be announced by HKEX before end-2026.
⭕️Storage capacity targeted to exceed 2,000 tonnes within three years (government + private sector), plus more refining capacity coming onshore.
⭕️ From the Oct 2024 Policy Address announcement to full clearing implementation in roughly 15 months — cited as concrete “Hong Kong speed.” Positive feedback from industry participants at LBMA on the timetable and readiness.

BREAKING: The U.S. is likely posturing for larger attacks on Iran, having issued urgent security and travel alerts across the Middle East — spanning Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE and Israel — warning Americans of potential missile and drone attacks, sudden airspace closures and flight cancellations, and urging them to consider leaving immediately, per official embassy advisories.
It comes hours after Netanyahu said in a campaign video on Sunday: “Only the two of us will destroy the Iranian nuclear program,” stating that he and Trump would eliminate the Iranian threat soon.
Earlier that day, he told Israeli security correspondents that his goal was to bring down the regime itself, saying: “Our plan is to bring about the collapse of the regime… That is the instruction I have given to all security agencies.”
Another round of attacks now appears to be inevitable, as Iran warns that any new attack will be treated as an all-out regional war.
