Those psychotic 3am note taking, mission driven, goal defining episodes to get from time to time is where the MONEY IS AT. Stop trying to fend off your anxiety and fear and discontent with not being where you want to be. Do the opposite, EMBRACE IT. Bathe yourself in the discontentment, think of the story it’ll make when you do succeed. Do you think Leonardo da Vinci made sure that he slept 8 full hours of sleep a night? Do you think that the people who made the biggest changes and impacts on the world were considered “normal” in any regard? Probably fucking not right? So if you’re trying to make an impact why would you try and balance every portion of your life. You should be striving for intentional periods of IMBALANCE. All things in moderation, including moderation. We all need a little time to go psycho mode and embrace our true creativity. The thing about having all this technology and distraction all the time is that it blunts a lot of the interesting characters, traits and unique techniques that made people achieve great things and invent revolutionary solutions. People were free to embody their weirdness and quirks hundreds of years ago because they didn’t have the constant “big brother” overlooking their every mood and exposing it to an onslaught of Potentially limitless judgement. Having the possibility that embracing those quirks could result in you being exposed to the world for not being normal (spoiler, no one is) is the exact reason you should DO THE OPPOSITE and intentionally unbalance yourself and your life for periods of a time because that is typically where you’ll experience true self transformation and enlightenment. Edison, Tesla, Da Vinci, Musk. Tell me, which one of these guys had a normal work schedule ever?
