Trump posted days ago that this wasn't going to happen as Russia had committed to refraining from attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. (Russia hasn't.) So either Kyiv has no fucks left to give or another message was conveyed offline. At all events, Zelensky today confirmed he's meeting Trump in New York this week on the margins of UNGA.

The world’s wrongest man, John Mearsheimer, says he was effectively penniless during his recent visit to Russia because the “Russia expert” didn’t know his US credit card wouldn’t work there.
Mearsheimer was in Russia to lecture Russians about Russia, leaving local audiences confused by pro-Russia talking points that he seems unaware are only meant for Western consumption.

When the White House opens its doors to the press, it must comply with the First Amendment. The president is as free as any other person to criticize media coverage. But he can’t ban outlets from the White House just because he doesn’t like their reporting or commentary. Press credentials aren’t a reward for loyalty to the government. A free, even adversarial, press is a sign of our country’s strength. The public deserves to hear about its government from independent voices, not just its leader’s loyalists and allies.
