MTN Uganda Stands with the Planet for Earth Hour 2026!
This Saturday, 28th March, MTN Uganda is proud to join millions around the world in switching off non-essential lights for one hour because every action counts.
But we didn’t stop at switching off lights.
This year, we took our commitment a step further by partnering with WWF Uganda to plant and grow a sustainable woodlot on 5 hectares of land at St. Joseph Vocational Training Institute, TECO Munteme, Kikuube District a living legacy for the communities and ecosystems that sustain us all.
At MTN Uganda, we believe that a connected future must also be a green future. Our participation in Earth Hour reflects our dedication to environmental sustainability, responsible business, and the well-being of the communities we serve across Uganda.
Tonight, we dim our lights…so tomorrow, Uganda can shine brighter.
Join us. Switch off your lights from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM and be part of the movement.

Strong partnerships create stronger communities. 💛
Representing our valued partners, American Tower Uganda (ATC's) Rebecca Lwetutte expressed her appreciation for the collective effort that has brought organizations together in support of healthier communities.
Her remarks underscored the power of collaboration and the shared understanding that expanding access to healthcare cannot be achieved by any one organization alone.
Through #21DaysOfYelloCare, partners from across sectors have come together to support maternal and child health, strengthen healthcare delivery, and create meaningful, lasting impact for the communities we serve.
Together, we're #DoingForTomorrowToday.
Thank you to our partners: American Tower Uganda (ATC), ZuriHealth @MengoHospital, Mayendeleyo, Corsu Rehabilitation Centre, @clinicPesa @UgandaRedCross @ATTABreastmilk

The future of healthcare is built through partnerships, sustainable solutions, and leaders who inspire collective action 💛
MTN Uganda CEO @sylmulinge, alongside Sarah Bateta, CFO - MTN MoMo, and Dorcus Muhwezi, GM, Customer Experience led MTN Staff volunteers at Kiyunga Health Centre to mark another impactful day of #21DaysOfYelloCare. From handing over critical health equipment to support maternal and child healthcare, to planting a tree as a symbol of sustainable impact, and officially launching the facility's solar power system.
These actions go beyond immediate needs. They help strengthen healthcare delivery, improve access to essential services, and create conditions for better health outcomes for mothers, children, and families.
Together with our partners and communities, we are #DoingForTomorrowToday by expanding equitable health for every community.

Thank you to our employees, customers, Board, government and regulators, partners, shareholders, and civil society for helping make this journey possible.
Special appreciation to our Chief Guest, Paul Bwiso, CEO of the @USEUganda, for honouring our invitation and for his leadership in advancing transparency, accountability, and strong corporate governance.
Because ultimately, the greatest legacy is not what we build for ourselves, but what we make possible for others.
Just as a life well lived is one spent in service of others, perhaps the greatest companies are those that do the same. 💛
Together, we remain unstoppable.

Happy #WorldEarthDay 🌍
As the world marked #EarthDay, we chose to do more than celebrate. We took a tangible step forward, launching our headquarters’ solar energy system and increasing the share of clean, renewable energy powering our operations.
This investment goes beyond infrastructure. It signals a deliberate shift in how we think about growth, efficiency, and responsibility, building a business that is resilient today and sustainable for the future.
ESG is not a department. It’s a mindset.
One of the most persistent myths in corporate life is that sustainability belongs to a team, something you can point to and say, “they handle that.”
ESG shows up in who we hire and whether we are truly building diverse, inclusive teams. It shows up in how we use resources, and how accountable we are for waste. It shows up in the standards we hold ourselves to, especially when no one is watching.
This week, we set out to demystify ESG and bring it to life across the business, for every @mtnug employee, regardless of role.
Because lasting impact doesn’t come from a function. It comes from shared ownership.
Sustainability isn’t a parallel agenda. It’s how we do business. Every single day.

🌱 This Earth Day, something powerful happened at MTN Uganda HQ.
Our teams gathered not just to mark the day but to deepen their understanding of ESG and sustainability: what it means for our planet, our business, and the choices we make every single day.
And then we flipped the switch.
Our office solar system is now LIVE, a tangible, lasting step toward carbon reduction and business sustainability.
Small actions. Big impact. One team.
Together, we are unstoppable.

For one hour today, we switch off the lights…but more importantly, we switch on awareness.
Earth Hour is a reminder that protecting our planet starts with small, intentional actions; taken consistently.
The future we want is not something we wait for. It’s something we build.
Let’s choose sustainability.
Let’s choose responsibility.
Let’s choose Earth. 🌍
