1/ New paper from CCN’s Dr Matteo De Marco in Neuropsychologia đź§
It looks at category fluency: the classic “name as many animals as you can in one minute” task. But instead of only counting the words, the study looks at the order they appear in.
sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
3/ They found that people with aMCI showed a stronger pattern for word length As the task went on, their animal words tended to get longer, suggesting changes in lexical-semantic organisation. Tiny detail. Interesting cognitive signal
4/ A nice reminder that cognitive tests can tell us more than the headline score. Sometimes the useful information is not just how many words someone produces, but how their responses unfold over time. #BrunelPsychology #Neuropsychology #DementiaResearch
1/ Does your menstrual cycle affect how vaccines work? 🩸
New paper from Poppy Copper and colleagues, including @Bruneluni CCE’s @RebeccaSear, in njp Women’s Health asks "does menstrual cycle phase affect COVID-19 vaccine outcomes?"
Turns out, possibly yes... 👇
3/ Menstrual cycles are not a niche side issue. They shape immune function, pain, mood and much more. Medical research has spent far too long treating that as inconvenient background noise 🫨
4/ Poppy also wrote a very accessible blog for Clue explaining the findings and why menstrual cycle data matters for health research! 🩸
