Former heavyweight contender Denis Boytsov, known as the "Russian Tyson," has died aged 40.
Boytsov compiled a 36-1 record before suffering devastating brain injuries in 2015 that left him requiring constant care.
His father confirmed he passed away at home in Russia on October 17 due to complications of his injuries.
Rest in peace, Denis. 🕊️🥊

A woman thought Drake looked “dangerous” on a plane. She didn’t know he spent six years serving with Marine Special Operations. He survived gunfire, shrapnel and an IED blast while protecting his team—and helped save over 40 lives. Not dangerous. A hero.

Re: Wilfredo “Bazooka” Gomez (RIP)
On behalf of the entire World Boxing Organization (WBO) family, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the legendary Wilfredo “Bazooka” Gómez, whose passing represents an immeasurable loss to Puerto Rico and the international boxing community.
A 1974 World Amateur Boxing Gold Medalist, three-division Professional World Champion, and International Boxing Hall of Famer, Wilfredo was widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time, particularly in the Junior Featherweight (122 lbs.) division, where his extraordinary dominance and historic 17 consecutive world title defenses by knockout established a legacy that remains unparalleled.
Beyond his remarkable accomplishments, Wilfredo was a national treasure, an enduring symbol of Puerto Rican pride, and one of the most iconic figures in the history of our sport. His courage, determination, extraordinary talent, and indomitable fighting spirit inspired generations of boxers and brought immense honor and distinction to our beloved island.
Today, Puerto Rico and the entire boxing world mourn the loss of a true legend whose contributions and accomplishments will forever remain part of our sporting history.
Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies are with his family during this profoundly difficult time.
Champions may leave the ring, but legends never leave our hearts.
Rest in eternal peace, Champ. Your legacy will live forever. 🇵🇷🥊🕊️ @WorldBoxingOrg

🔥 Muhammad Ali is old, battle-worn, exhausted and hurt badly by Earnie Shavers at the end of Round 14. His response is a near 40-punch assault at the end of Round 15 that almost forces a stoppage.
Ali took WAY TOO MUCH in this fight, but what a warrior that guy was! 🇺🇸🥊🇺🇸
