As reported here last night, the offender from the officer involved shooting on the 5600 block of W Leland yesterday had been accused of domestic battery by strangulation and kidnapping. The victim in that case was the same woman who was stabbed by that same male. The male was released from custody pending further proceedings. The man was later found dead in a car with a gunshot wound to his shoulder about a block away. Sources say he also covered his exhaust pipe in order to give himself carbon monoxide poisoning. This follows a case where a woman was found dead in a stairwell with her foot severed in a South Loop highrise late in October. That man had previously been accused of pretty serious domestic violence however was never charged in Cook County for anything. A case was pending in Michigan.
