BAC applauds President Trump’s Executive Order targeting refinance costs and private mortgage insurance — meaningful action aimed at lowering costs and simplifying the mortgage process for American homeowners. The order directs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to identify eligible conventional borrowers who have built enough equity to have PMI automatically removed, helping eliminate unnecessary appraisal and paperwork hurdles. It also makes automated title review permanent and available nationwide for eligible refinances, while directing FHFA to consider additional opportunities to reduce costs, including appraisal and income re-verification waivers and reductions in certain GSE fees. BAC supports @POTUS taking action to put more money back in homeowners’ pockets and remove unnecessary barriers to homeownership. Lower costs. Fewer hurdles. A better process for American homeowners.
